Ben Simmons could make his Kings debut Saturday, but Simmons’ availability isn’t why I’m backing Sacramento to upset the Warriors in tonight's NBA moneyline picks.
In addition to the Kings, I’m backing the Clippers, Pacers, and Wizards to win as underdogs thanks to their combination of young talent, depth, and experience.

Expert NBA preseason moneyline predictions for October 10
Clippers vs Raptors:
Clippers
The Clippers earned a dub over the Warriors on opening night of the preseason thanks to late-game heroics from rookie Keaton Wagler, who dropped nine points in the fourth quarter, including the go-ahead bucket in the final seconds.
Los Angeles has a talented preseason core of Wagler, Darius Garland, and Rui Hachimura, and the trio will look to develop chemistry ahead of the regular season. Toronto will be without Kawhi Leonard, so I’ll back the team with the deeper, healthier roster.
Hawks vs Pacers:
Pacers
Have yourself a preseason opener, Jarace Walker!
The fourth-year man out of Houston finished with seven points, five rebounds, and 10 assists in the Pacers’ 123-112 win over the Timberwolves.
Walker is just one of the Pacers’ strong bench options, who include Jay Huff, Ben Sheppard, and Obi Toppin. The Pacers have a deep rotation of guys who have played together for multiple seasons, and I’ll bet on continuity, depth, and home court advantage.
Pistons vs Wizards:
Wizards
The Pistons are the overwhelming favorites here, but I price the Wizards at 51%, making this a value trade.
Both teams are 1-0 after two-point wins to open preseason play, and both teams have deep and experienced rosters. Washington, however, has a group of young guys whose substantial playing time from last season may disappear with the Wizards’ new-look rotation.
This is their chance to prove themselves, and I’ll back a talented group of Bub Carrington, Will Riley, Bilal Coulibaly, and Tre Johnson to push Washington over the top.
Timberwolves vs Heat:
Timberwolves
The Heat have the most dominant frontcourt in the Association in Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo, but Miami doesn’t have the depth that Minnesota does.
The Wolves have the more complete starting five, featuring LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, and Rudy Gobert. Guys like Ayo Dosunmu and Jonathan Kuminga can provide a scoring spark, and Jaden McDaniels brings elite defense.
My money’s on the visiting team, which has a better roster, top-to-bottom.
76ers vs Celtics:
Celtics
The 76ers have nothing to play for in this one, and they’d be wise to give their veterans a rest. We got a taste of LeBron James in a Sixers uniform, but the NBA’s oldest player doesn’t need to play big minutes or even take the court.
Ditto Joel Embiid, who has a long history of missing games. Philly is looking ahead to the regular season and beyond with established vets and defined roles, while Boston is still figuring out who will round out its starting five.
Guys like Baylor Scheierman, Devin Carter, Hugo Gonzalez, and Jordan Walsh figure to see heavy minutes as they audition for regular-season playing time.
Kings vs Warriors:
Kings
The Warriors have a motivated preseason squad featuring guys like Brandon Williams, Charles Bassey, and Dalen Terry, who are all looking to carve out a spot in Golden State’s rotation. Rookie Yaxel Lendeborg was one of the best players in Summer League, and he’s had a strong showing in preseason action thus far.
Golden State may be motivated, but Sacramento is hungry. Zach LaVine and Domantas Sabonis missed most of last season with injuries, but the pair can show what they’ve got tonight. The backcourt of Darius Acuff Jr. and Nique Clifford has been excellent, and Ben Simmons could make his Sacramento debut.
This should be a stellar game, but I’ll give the edge to the young and hungry visiting team, who should be trading closer to 40%.
Spurs vs Suns:
Spurs
Both teams are looking for their first preseason win, but the Spurs have clear advantages in talent and experience.
The Spurs played in the NBA Finals just four months ago, and Dylan Harper is the most talented of the first or second-year players on either roster. Harper & Co. should come away with a win in front of the home crowd tonight, and they’ll be in an even better position to do so if De’Aaron Fox makes his expected return.
