The Warriors host the Lakers in preseason action, and betting analyst Jon Metler is backing Golden State in his latest NBA moneyline picks.

It's only preseason, but that won't stop us from hunting for edges in the best prediction market apps when it comes to NBA moneyline picks.

Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets will face the Utah Jazz for the second time this preseason, and we're looking for a repeat of the result from their first meeting.

I'd normally highlight an appointment-viewing matchup between Stephen Curry and Luka Doncic, but with the Los Angeles Lakers playing the second night of a back-to-back, I don't expect Doncic to suit up. That's why we have a trade to place on the Golden State Warriors.

Now that NBA preseason games are available to trade, make sure you're checking our latest NBA picks.

Expert NBA preseason moneyline predictions for Oct. 6

Nets vs Hornets: Nets Nets

Trade 40% at Polymarket

I'm shocked to see the Charlotte Hornets trading as such a big favorite in a preseason game with Kon Knueppel out due to injury, and Coby White also sidelined.

The Hornets are down two primary offensive weapons while also trying to integrate new players like Grayson Allen and Naz Reid into their system. At 40%, give me the Nets on the moneyline, as I price Brooklyn closer to 44% in this matchup.

Pelicans vs Thunder: Pelicans Pelicans

Trade 42% at Polymarket

The Oklahoma City Thunder have every meaningful player listed as questionable for this matchup and are still trading as 59% favorites. I think there's a strong chance that buying the Pelicans at 42% pays off once the injury reports are announced, leaving you with an excellent number compared to the market price.

If Chet Holmgren and Isaiah Hartenstein are both sitting, who's meeting Zion Williamson at the rim? At this number, you have to roll with the Pelicans.

Nuggets vs Jazz: Jazz Jazz

Trade 49% at Polymarket

I had my eye on this first preseason matchup, and I don't see any reason not to roll with the Jazz again here, especially with them trading at 49% as slight underdogs.

The Utah Jazz are rolling out a massive frontcourt of Jaren Jackson Jr., Lauri Markkanen, and Jusuf Nurkic while bringing Ace Bailey off the bench. Jokic already has little interest in preseason basketball, and the size of this frontcourt seemed to make him even less interested in the first matchup, when he scored just three points.

I'll gladly hit the button on the Jazz at 49%.

Lakers vs Warriors: Warriors Warriors

Trade 61% at Polymarket

This is the second night of a back-to-back for the Los Angeles Lakers, and it's only the preseason. It's hard enough to get a quality effort out of an NBA team on the second night of a back-to-back during the regular season, let alone in the preseason.

With the Lakers traveling for this game after playing in Sacramento on Monday, I don't expect many, if any, players of significance to suit up. Once the injury reports officially drop, I think the Warriors' 61% probability will be long gone, with that number likely trading much higher.
