My Red Sox vs. Twins predictions see the bats continuing to shine Wednesday afternoon against a pair of exploitable pitchers. Let’s break it all down with my July 30 MLB picks.

Red Sox vs Twins prediction

My Red Sox vs Twins best bet: Over 8 (-115 at bet365)

The Boston Red Sox feature one of the league’s best offenses. They sit tied for fourth in runs per game and have scored at least four in five of their last six, over which time they’ve piled up 31 runs in aggregate.

The offense should continue to be there against Zebby Matthews. He has allowed 4.96 runs per nine innings over his last six starts. That’s an alarming number considering only one of them came against a Top-11 offense by wRC+, and only two came against teams that cracked the Top 20.

He has faced a relatively easy schedule and still struggled to keep runs off the board. That doesn’t bode well for his chances against a Red Sox offense that sits 8th in OPS against righties since June 1.

The Minnesota Twins should also feel good about their chances of scoring on Brayan Bello. He's allowed at least two runs in 14 of his last 16 starts and, even at his best, usually has a couple of hiccups along the way.

No Byron Buxton stings, but at home, the Twins rank tied for 12th in wOBA vs. right-handed pitching since June 1. They should be able to contribute their fair share to this total.

Red Sox vs Twins same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 8

Wilyer Abreu 2+ total bases

Trevor Larnach 2+ total bases

Wilyer Abreu has picked up six bases through the first two games of this series and is in a good spot to build on it. He's hitting .258 with a .262 ISO against righties on the season, and Matthews has given up more power against left-handed bats. Matthews is very fastball-heavy, and Abreu has hit seven homers vs. the fastball this season.

This is a nice matchup for Larnach as well. Bello is a sinker-first pitcher against lefties, and Larnach owns a higher average vs. that pitch than any other. He’s generated the most power against fastballs and changeups, which happen to be Bello’s other two most-used pitches.
