Bo Bichette hits free agency this winter and will have a ton of interested suitors, chief among them being the Toronto Blue Jays, the team for whom he's played his entire big-league career.
The Blue Jays are the betting favorites to retain his services, but several teams are relatively close on the odds board.
Let's take a look at Bo Bichette's next team odds ahead of his looming foray into the open market.

Bo Bichette career arc
The Toronto Blue Jays selected shortstop Bo Bichette in the second round of the 2016 amateur draft (two selections behind fellow 2025 free agent Pete Alonso). He debuted in MLB less than three full years later in 2019, batting .311/.358/.571 with 11 home runs in 46 games.
All told, Bichette has hit .294/.337/.469 with 111 home runs and 60 stolen bases in 748 games across parts of seven big-league seasons. He's been named to two All-Star teams and led the American League in hits twice (2021 and 2022).
Injuries have limited him in recent seasons. He batted just .225 with four homers in 81 games in 2024 before coming back in a big way in 2025, hitting .311 with 18 long balls in 139 games, and later hit a monumental three-run home run in Game 7 of the World Series that just didn't hold up.
He was compromised by a late-season knee injury, though, that held him out of postseason play until the Fall Classic.
Bo Bichette next team favorites
Toronto Blue Jays
Run it back. Bichette has clearly stated he desires to stay in Toronto for the rest of his career. He is inextricably tied to Vladimir Guerrero Jr., with whom he rose through the minor-league ranks before both debuting with the Blue Jays just months apart in 2019.
It's perhaps easy to forget now, but Bichette started his career with an 11-game hitting streak, with eight multi-hit games and 20 total base knocks.
At -225, the Blue Jays are seen as the clear favorites to retain Bichette's services. After Toronto extended Guerrero for 14 years and $500 million, another lucrative deal will have to be handed to the infielder.
And while he's exclusively played shortstop throughout the regular season, he shifted to second base in the World Series. Could a more permanent move be in store, or will he seek starting shortstop duties?
The Blue Jays will tender him a qualifying offer, which he will reject, ensuring the club at least gets a compensatory draft pick if he leaves. That would be considered a failure, though, and I ultimately expect him back with the Blue Jays for the next decade
Prediction: Blue Jays (-225)

Atlanta Braves
Bichette and Guerrero represented the next true wave for the Blue Jays as the franchise returned to prominence and competition after failed playoff runs in 2015 and 2016.
However, both players entered Toronto's farm system during that previous administration, under general manager Alex Anthopolous.
With AA now the president of baseball operations for the Atlanta Braves, Bichette makes for an intriguing option. He would undoubtedly slide back in at shortstop, as Ozzie Albies is entrenched at second base.
However, this doesn't seem like an Anthopolous move. Since he took the reins in Atlanta, the Braves have opted more for trades and extensions (often of the below-market variety) than free-agent splashes, instead looking for more inexpensive options to round out the roster.
New York Yankees
Guerrero has famously said he wouldn't play for the New York Yankees even if he were dead. Bichette has not taken a hard stance on such a union one way or another.
This would be the worst-case scenario for Blue Jays fans, and it wouldn't be the first time a fan-favorite would go from Toronto to the Bronx, but it'd be among the most painful.
If the Yankees are frustrated enough by the steps backward taken by shortstop Anthony Volpe, Bichette would be a fantastic replacement. Bichette could, in theory, shift to either second or third base, as well.
Bo Bichette next team dark horse picks
Philadelphia Phillies
Of the teams listed, the Philadelphia Phillies scream value relative to the +1600 price tag. Yes, the middle infield is a little jammed between second baseman Bryson Stott and shortstop Trea Turner, but I can't see that being a real impediment.
Third baseman Alec Bohm underwhelmed in 2025 and is poised to hit free agency after next season. Stott has one more year of control, but either could be trade chips if Bichette were a real option.
The Phillies have work to do this offseason, with Kyle Schwarber and J.T. Realmuto both free agents, and Nick Castellanos rumored to be on his way out of town.
Still, Bichette would offer more stability and upside to the lineup, even if it makes things a little cumbersome on the defensive front at first.
Los Angeles Dodgers
I think it'd be malpractice to ignore the Los Angeles Dodgers as a potential suitor for Bichette, and joining them is less ideal for Jays fans than any option other than the Yankees. Though with the 2025 World Series fresh in everyone's mind, maybe this would be worse.
He could either take over 2B duties from the carousel of infielders used at the position or play shortstop while freeing up the keystone for Mookie Betts.
Still, I expect the Dodgers to push all in on Kyle Tucker. Sure, they could go after both, but that would be overkill... even for L.A.
A note about the Colorado Rockies
One can only assume the Colorado Rockies are listed at all, let alone so high on the board, only because of his father's tenure with the organization, not any real likelihood.
Dante Bichette hit .316 with 201 home runs in seven seasons with the Rockies from 1993-99. Cool. But other than the inexplicable splurge on Kris Bryant, when has Dick Monfort invested in free agents in recent offseasons?
Plus, Bichette's top desire is to win a World Series, and I don't think I'm going out on a limb to say Colorado isn't going to be competitive in that chase any time soon. I'll believe this when I see it.
