Jake Sanderson is one of the most productive defensemen in the NHL. He's piled up 26 points through 34 games, tying him for 10th among blueliners league-wide.

Four of those points have come against Boston, and my Senators vs. Bruins predictions and NHL picks see Sanderson finding success against them once again.

Senators vs Bruins prediction

Senators vs Bruins best bet: Jake Sanderson Over 0.5 points (-120)

The Boston Bruins are really laboring defensively right now. They've given up 5-on-5 expected goals at the league’s highest rate over the past 10 games, which does not bode well heading into a matchup against the Ottawa Senators.

Ottawa sits second in expected goals generated at 5-on-5 over the same period of time. Jake Sanderson has played a significant role in that, playing more than anyone else on the team.

The power play matchup is also very enticing. Sanderson quarterbacks Ottawa’s No. 1 unit, which is well-positioned to find success.

Boston has allowed at least one power play goal in six straight games, including against lesser offensive teams like St. Louis and Winnipeg.

The Senators, who have scored 11 power-play markers over the last eight games, will be chomping at the bit to test this struggling Bruins kill.

Also helping matters is that Joonas Korpisalo is slated to start in net. He owns a putrid .888 save percentage on the season and has given up 18 goals over his last five starts.

Ottawa should be able to score plenty, giving Sanderson ample opportunity to hit the scoresheet.

Senators vs Bruins same-game parlay

Drake Batherson has been a model of consistency this season. He is averaging more than a point per game and has only gone two in a row without hitting the scoresheet once all year. After a pointless effort Saturday, Batherson is in a great spot to rebound.

Linus Ullmark has turned a corner of late, conceding a total of five goals over three straight wins. He should have plenty of run support to help guide the Senators to a multi-goal victory.
