The Baltimore Orioles head to Southern California tonight to face the Los Angeles Dodgers, with the pitching matchup playing in L.A.'s favor for an offensive breakout.

My Orioles vs. Dodgers predictions are eyeing the hosts to jump on the struggling Trey Gibson early at Dodger Stadium.

Find out more in my MLB picks for Friday, June 19.

Who will win Orioles vs Dodgers today: Dodgers -1.5 (-103)

The Los Angeles Dodgers will face Baltimore Orioles rookie Trey Gibson, who's struggled since coming up to the big leagues.

He owns a 6.37 FIP across five appearances with a hard hit rate of 41.4%. Last time out, he allowed six earned runs to an underwhelming Padres offense.

What stands out to me is his struggles with the homer. Gibson has allowed 1.69 HR/9, and L.A. is second in long balls with 103

Roki Sasaki takes the bump for the hosts. His statistics aren't spectacular lately, but they're slightly inflated since he allowed seven earned runs last time out.

Looking at his previous four outings, Sasaki owns a respectable 3.02 xERA.

I'll play this to -120.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Gibson is walking 6.00 hitters per nine innings across his last two starts, and has posted 5.48 BB/9 overall.

Orioles vs Dodgers Over/Under pick: Over 9.5 (+101)

I'm not expecting either starter to be lights-out tonight.

Baltimore's bullpen could be in there relatively early, and they own a brutal 7.78 FIP over the last week.

As for L.A.'s relievers, they've been better with a 3.22 xERA over their last 16 1/3 innings, but Sasaki is somewhat vulnerable. Even if he doesn't get shelled like last week, Baltimore comes in with the ability to score some runs.

They're averaging a 42.2% hard hit rate over the last week, and across the last 14 days, the O's have a 105 wRC+

Most of the damage should come from the Dodgers, but Baltimore's recent form gives the visitors a path to contribute enough offense to push this game beyond the total.

Play to -110.
