European soccer clubs are making up for months of time lost to COVID-19, providing lots of opportunities for soccer betting. We have predictions and picks for the biggest La Liga and Serie A games this week. Both leagues have entertaining battles atop the table and multiple teams in contention for automatic Champions League appearances.

Here are our top La Liga and Serie A betting predictions for June 22-24:

La Liga, Serie A Predictions June 22-24

Villarreal vs. Sevilla (Monday, 1:30 p.m. ET)

If you’re looking for goal scoring, you’re better off going elsewhere as defensive stalwarts Villarreal and Sevilla do battle at Estadio de la Cerámica to kick off Matchweek 31. Sevilla are in a fight to remain in an automatic Champions League berth and the third-place club did itself a huge favor by battling Barcelona to a scoreless draw last time out. That said, they’ll face another challenge against a host Villarreal side that has won three straight.

Sevilla have been tremendous on defense since returning from the lengthy COVID-19 hiatus, limiting Real Betis, Levante and Barca to a single goal combined. But Villarreal have done one better, having held Celta Vigo, Mallorca and Granada scoreless in a trio of 1-0 wins. Also, considering that the sides have scored just six combined goals in their six post-break games, a low-scoring affair is inevitable.

Pick: Under 2.5 (-125)

Torino vs. Udinese (Tuesday, 3:45 p.m. ET)

Serie A minnows Torino and Udinese continue playing out the string at Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino in a battle between teams hungry for a victory. Host Torino ended a six-game losing streak in league play with a 1-1 draw against Parma Calcio last time out but haven’t earned three points in a Serie A match since January 12. Udinese have at least earned draws in four straight league fixtures, but also haven’t tasted Serie A victory since Jan. 12.

These teams are evenly matched and have shown poor form recently, which puts the draw squarely in play. And it’s a great opportunity to add a kicker to this wager, since both sides have also struggled offensively. Udinese have just two goals from their previous six league games while Torino have only three goals in their last five matches overall. We’re confident in both the draw and the Under, so feel free to combine them for a nice payoff.

Pick: Draw/Under 2.5 (+300)

Atalanta vs. Lazio (Wednesday, 3:45 p.m. ET)

You’d be hard-pressed to find a more entertaining team in European domestic soccer than Atalanta, who look to bring the fireworks into Wednesday’s home date with Lazio. This one is pivotal for both sides. The visitors enter Matchday 27 in Serie A just one point back of Juventus for top spot and are coming off a dominant tune-up victory last week. Fourth-place Atalanta have won four in a row as they look to secure the final Champions League spot.

This is the place to be if you like goal scoring. That’s mostly thanks to Atalanta, who have scored 3-plus goals in 11 straight matches across all competitions while seeing an average of 5.3 goals scored in those outings. They lead the league with a whopping 71 goals on the season while Lazio are a distant second with 60 (but still nine better than the next closest team.) Look for the goals to be plentiful here.

Pick: Over 3.5 (+137)

Real Madrid vs. Mallorca (Wednesday, 4 p.m. ET)

Real Madrid have looked dominant since returning from the hiatus and they’ll hope to continue that top form with a home date against Mallorca, who are desperately trying to avoid relegation. Madrid have reeled off three straight victories while outscoring the opposition by an 8-2 margin. Meanwhile, Mallorca have recorded a single point through its three post-hiatus matches, scoring just one total goal over that span.

In some circumstances, we might see Real Madrid take their foot off the gas when facing an inferior opponent at home. But playing in friendly territory doesn’t offer the same advantage without fans and Real Madrid need every point they can get as they enter Matchday 31, being even on points with rival Barcelona. Madrid might not fill the net against their Wednesday foe, but they’re a great bet to keep Mallorca from generating much of anything on offense.

Pick: Real Madrid clean sheet (-138)
