Breeders' Cup prep predictions: Haskell Stakes
The Puma was among my top choices for the Kentucky Derby, but he was a scratch due to an unfortunately-timed skin infection.
He's trained up well to this $1 million race, and his Florida Derby form has been flattered to some extent with Commandment turning in solid showings in the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes.
The Puma beat race favorite Further Ado head-to-head in the Tampa Bay Derby earlier this year, and I'm keen to play against Preakness winner Napoleon Solo in what I doubt will turn out to be a key race going forward.
+200 is my lower limit. The Haskell goes as Race 12 of 14 at Monmouth Park on Saturday, July 18, with an approximate post time of 5:45 p.m. ET.
