Switzerland's chance creation and Canada's newfound scoring touch make the Over the best angle in a match with major implications in Group B.

It's all on the line for Canada and Switzerland today, with the top spot in Group B up for grabs, as well as an easier path in the World Cup bracket.

Thanks to a rout of Qatar, Canada find themselves needing just a draw to secure first place, but my Canada vs. Switzerland predictions expect goals to be in the cards more than anything else.

Find out why in my World Cup picks for June 24, with kickoff set for 3 p.m. at BC Place in Vancouver, live on FOX and TSN.

Who will win Canada vs Switzerland: Canada (+230)

Canada entered this tournament priced behind Switzerland to win Group B in the World Cup odds, but Les Rouges have done enough through two matches to suggest that gap may have been overstated.

The key matchup here is what happens when Switzerland is forced to chase the game. Thanks in part to Qatar's late equalizer against the Swiss in the opener, Canada controls its own destiny and can afford to play to its strengths. That should create opportunities for one of the most dangerous transition attacks in the tournament.

We've already seen Canada's pace cause problems in open space, with Jonathan David, Tajon Buchanan, and company thriving when opponents push numbers forward. Switzerland is undoubtedly the most talented team Canada has faced so far, but that talent could also work against them if they become too aggressive in search of a result.

Add in a hostile home crowd and the confidence generated by a six-goal performance against Qatar, and I'm backing Canada to secure a statement victory and top Group B.

Playable to +200.

 TOp pick

Canada vs Switzerland Over/Under pick: Over 2.5 (+114)

Canada's attack found its rhythm in a big way against Qatar, scoring six times and easing some of the concerns that followed its opening draw with Bosnia. Jonathan David's hat trick should provide a major confidence boost, and Les Rouges have now scored in six of their last seven matches on home soil.

The bigger reason I'm backing the Over, however, is Switzerland's ability to contribute at the other end. The Swiss have scored five goals through two matches while generating 5.26 expected goals combined against Qatar and Bosnia. They created 26 shots against Qatar alone and followed that up with another strong attacking display against Bosnia. Switzerland repeatedly found space between the lines against both opponents, creating chances through quick combinations rather than relying solely on crosses or set pieces.

While Canada has looked comfortable defensively so far, neither Bosnia nor Qatar possess the technical quality Switzerland brings to the table. I don't believe we've truly seen Canada's backline tested yet this tournament, and the Swiss present the toughest attacking challenge they've faced. With both teams carrying plenty of motivation and enough firepower to find the net, Over 2.5 goals is my favorite play.

Playable to -105.

 TOp pick

Canada vs Switzerland goal scorer pick: Jonathan David (+240)

Jonathan David reminded everyone exactly why he's Canada's most dangerous attacking player with a hat trick against Qatar, and this matchup should suit him as well.

Switzerland enters the final group-stage game needing a result, which could force them to take more risks than they normally would defensively. That's good news for a Canadian side that thrives in transition, with David's movement, pace, and finishing ability making him the primary beneficiary.

He remains Canada's penalty taker and focal point in the final third, and after scoring three times last time out, confidence should be sky-high heading into a match with massive stakes.
