A pair of struggling Canadian teams hit the Bell Centre as the Winnipeg Jets visit the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday, December 3.

My top Jets vs. Canadiens predictions and NHL picks are calling for Montreal winger Cole Caufield to have a bounce-back night in the shots column.

Jets vs Canadiens prediction

Jets vs Canadiens Best bet: Cole Caufield Over 2.5 shots on goal (-130)

Montreal Canadiens winger Cole Caufield has been limited to just four shots on 11 attempts through his past three games after recording three or more in each of his prior five contests.

There’s been a big dip in his attempts per 60 minutes (12.49), in addition to converting just 36.4% of those attempts into shots.

Caufield recorded 23.03 attempts per 60 with 55.8% of those registering as shots during the highlighted five-game stretch.

Tonight's game is a bounce-back spot statistically for the go-to winger.

The Winnipeg Jets rank 29th in both Corsi For percentage (45.9) and shot share (45.2%) at 5-on-5 for the season, and they’re also reeling along a 4-9 skid.

Of course, Caufield has also posted a solid 52.1 CF% and 53.7% shot share at 5-on-5 while ranking in the 90th percentile of forwards in shots on goal for the season.

Jets vs Canadiens same-game parlay

Montreal center Nick Suzuki is riding a six-game point streak and paces the club in points with 30 through 25 games. He’s receiving top minutes and jumping the boards with the No. 1 power-play unit, and the Jets have allowed a healthy 3.46 goals per game during their highlighted slump.

Winnipeg has also allowed three or more goals in eight of the past 10.

Turning to Jets No. 1 center Mark Scheifele, he’s picked up an assist in 10 of his past 18 games for 16 total while logging 20:07 of ice time, including 3:06 on the power play.

This is a nice matchup for Winnipeg, too. The Canadiens are playing the second leg of a back-to-back set and reeling along their own 4-6-3 slump while allowing a league-high 4.15 goals per game.

Jets vs Canadiens SGP

  • Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 points
  • Mark Scheifele Over 0.5 assists
