The Vancouver Canucks return home on Monday night to host the Vegas Golden Knights at Rogers Arena. The Canucks are slight home favorites on the NHL odds board against their division rival.
This will be the second meeting in the last week between these two teams after Vancouver lost 6-3 in Vegas last Tuesday. However, the Canucks are 25-9-4 at home while the Golden Knights are just 18-15-6 on the road.

The Vegas Golden Knights are surging up the standings at the right time. After battling through injuries most of the season, Vegas is 6-1-1 in its last eight games and 9-3-1 since March 9.
Jack Eichel is one of the most important players on the team and that’s shown up this season. He has 60 points (27 goals, 33 assists) in 57 games and is tied with Jonathan Marchessault for the team lead in shots on goal (251). That’s nearly 4.5 shots per game (4.40).
Eichel missed nearly two months with a knee injury before returning on March 4. He hasn’t missed a beat with 16 points and 78 shots in 15 games since then — an average of 5.2 shots per game, including six against the Canucks back on March 7 and seven shots in the meeting last week.
The centerman only had three shots on goal in his last game but did manage five shot attempts. He’s been aggressive all season long and perhaps even more so over the past month.
Eichel has gone Over 3.5 shots on goal in 11 of 15 games since returning from injury and 14 of 18 overall. On the season, the star forward has at least four shots in 37 of 57 games (64.9%).
We’re getting odds of -135 for Eichel to go Over 3.5 shots on goal tonight, which implies a probability of 57.45%. There’s some value there, and a potential ladder play as well.
Mind you, he’s compiled 19 shots in three games against the Canucks this season with at least six shots in all three games, so Over 5.5 shots (+320) or even Over 6.5 shots (+650) — which he’s had in 11 of 57 games (19% vs. 13.33% implied) could be worth a sprinkle.

The Golden Knights have been a completely different team on the road than at home this season. While they’re 24-11-2 inside the fortress, they’re just 18-15-6 away from home. Meanwhile, the Canucks are 25-9-4 at home as opposed to 22-13-4 on the road.
Vegas can’t be trusted on the road right now, especially after blowing a 4-1 lead in Arizona over the weekend.
