Flyers vs Blue Jackets Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

Travis Konecny rarely gets blanked in back-to-back games, and the Flyers forward has an appealing matchup against a soft Blue Jackets defense tonight.

Travis Konecny is having another terrific season. He has produced 45 points through 50 games, on pace to surpass 70 points for the second straight year.

After a quiet performance last time out, my Flyers vs. Blue Jackets predictions expect Konecny to get back on the scoresheet in Columbus.

Let’s take a closer look at my NHL picks for Wednesday, January 28.

Flyers vs Blue Jackets prediction

Flyers vs Blue Jackets best bet: Travis Konecny Over 0.5 points (-145)

Travis Konecny has upped his consistency this season, picking up at least one point in 68% of his games, well above last year’s rate of 59%.

The Philadelphia Flyers forward has only gone consecutive games without a point three times and hasn’t hit such a spell since late November.

Konecny failed to make any noise offensively against the Islanders, but he has a great matchup to get back on track.

The Columbus Blue Jackets rank 25th in goals against per game and 31st in shots allowed. While the hiring of Rick Bowness has helped a little bit, they are still finding themselves in a lot of high-event affairs.

Columbus' games averaged 6.39 goals and 60.83 shots with Dean Evason behind the bench. Through six games under Bowness, we are seeing 6.5 combined goals and 58.83 shots. Not much of a difference.

It seems like the Blue Jackets will remain a high-event side with defensive flaws, and Konecny has feasted in such matchups.

Konecny has points in 18 of 21 games against teams ranking in the Bottom 10 in goals against, shots against, or both.

Win or lose, look for him to have a productive night.

Flyers vs Blue Jackets same-game parlay

Trevor Zegras has assists in 55% of his games following a day of rest. He also has 11 helpers through 15 matchups against Bottom-10 teams in goals against. Riding shotgun with Konecny at 5-on-5 and on the top power play, he should make some noise in this matchup.

We’re rounding out the parlay with another member of Philadelphia’s top line. Christian Dvorak has averaged 2.9 shots over his last 10 road dates and draws a Columbus team that has given up the most shots to centers spanning their past 10.

Flyers vs Blue Jackets SGP

  • Travis Konecny Over 0.5 points
