The NFL playoffs kick off on Saturday with an NFC Wild Card clash between the Los Angeles Rams and Carolina Panthers.
We could see some messy weather in this contest which factors into my NFL picks as I fade MVP front-runner Matthew Stafford.
Here are my best free Rams vs. Panthers props for the Wild Card Round on January 10.
Rams vs Panthers props
| Player | Pick | |
|---|---|---|
| Under 264.5 passing yards | -114 | |
| Over 65.5 rushing yards | -114 | |
| Over 35.5 receiving yards | -114 |

Prop bet #1: Matthew Stafford Under 264.5 passing yards
Matthew Stafford's passing yards prop is too high when you consider game script and weather. The Los Angeles Rams are huge 10.5-point faves against the Carolina Panthers which implies a positive game script with a heavy dose of the run from L.A.
In addition there's a 75% chance of showers in this game with sustained winds of 15 mph and gusts up to 40 mph. Those gusts will make throwing downfield extremely tough for Stafford who has a history of seeing his numbers drop when playing outdoors in poor weather.
He threw for 243 yards and had his third-lowest passer rating (85.9) of the season when these teams clashed in Charlotte in Week 13.
Prop bet #2: Kyren Williams Over 65.5 rushing yards
We should get less passing volume from Stafford so expect the Rams to lean on their rushing attack. With L.A. splitting carries between Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, it's tough to decide who to bet on.
That said, Williams is the more well-rounded player and has gotten the majority of touches in big games. The veteran running back has rushed for 70+ yards in five of his last six contests.
That includes the previous clash against Carolina when he rumbled for 72 yards. The Panthers are 26th in the league in defensive rush EPA over their last 10 games while surrendering 144.8 rushing yards per game over that span.
Prop bet #3: Jalen Coker Over 35.5 receiving yards
Jalen Coker was Carolina's most reliable pass-catcher down the stretch, logging more than 45 receiving yards in four of his last five games.
He had a season-high six receptions for 47 yards last week while racking up 74 yards versus the Rams in Week 13.
The Rams have allowed the 10th-most receiving yards to wide receivers and will likely focus on covering Rookie of the Year favorite Tetairoa McMillan. That will open things up for Coker in a contest where his team should have a passing game script.
