Jaguars vs Titans Predictions - Early Picks & Odds for Week 13

The Titans have kept their losses close despite being 1-10. However, the Jaguars are favored by a mere 6.5 points, giving us a solid hook below the TD. Take Jacksonville in a game that should see ample scoring.

After picking up another close win, the Jacksonville Jaguars jump into division play with a visit to Nashville to play the Tennessee Titans.

The Jaguars pulled within a game of the Indianapolis Colts and need to pick up a win here to keep pressure applied. The Titans would love to derail the season of their rivals and pick up their second victory of the season.

Here are my early NFL picks for Jaguars vs Titans for Sunday, November 30.

Early Jaguars vs Titans spread pick: Jaguars -6.5

-118 at FanDuel

The Tennessee Titans have lost 10 of 11, but it’s worth noting they’ve not given up. Their last three defeats came by a combined 16 points.

The Titans covered for the third straight game by fighting back from a 20-point deficit to cut it to a one-score game in the final minute against the Seahawks on Sunday. They lost on a last-second field goal to Houston the week before that, and lost to the Chargers after cutting it to seven points with four minutes to go in Week 10.

But as long as the spread is under a touchdown, I’ll take the Jacksonville Jaguars to cover. They’re now unbeaten against the spread on the road, with three wins and a push, after the three-point win over the Cardinals. Jacksonville will also hurt the Titans on the ground, where they rank 27th in yards per carry and 31st in rushing scores allowed.

Tennessee is also one of the most penalized teams in the NFL. The Titans rank 31st in sack rate allowed, and their poor rushing attack will make them one-dimensional against Jacksonville’s Top 5 rushing defense. And while Trevor Lawrence is turnover-prone, this Titans defense doesn’t force many.

Cam Ward will find some success, but he’s going to be under pressure far too often in obvious passing situations. The Titans might yet again threaten a backdoor cover, but I expect Jacksonville to win by a touchdown or more.

Early Jaguars vs Titans total pick: Over 41.5

Vegas has had problems figuring out the Titans on the total, with the Over going 4-1 the past five games and 7-3 in the last 10. And the fact that Ward keeps racking up garbage-time numbers makes me lean toward that side again.

On the flip side, the Jaguars should find plenty of points. They rank 12th in scoring, with the Titans allowing more than three touchdowns a game.

Jacksonville’s red zone defense has been poor, with opponents scoring touchdowns on nearly 62% of their visits. And while Tennessee hasn’t cashed in at a high rate, the frailties in this Jaguar secondary raise the odds of scoring chances improving.

The Jaguars should thrive off play-action against a struggling Titans run defense. Tennessee also throws the ball at the second-highest rate in the league. The strengths of the two offenses match up perfectly with the weaknesses of the opposing defenses, which makes the low total a bit too low for me.
