It’s been 15 years since the first NFL game in London and this is the 32nd installment, which makes it only right that the Packers make the journey, as the only team yet to play there. Even more impressive, this is the first NFL game in London between two teams with a winning record as the Giants face the Packers.

Don’t miss our NFL picks and predictions for the New York Giants vs. Green Bay Packers.

Giants vs Packers picks and predictions

Coming into the season, we didn’t know which of Aaron Rodgers’ wideouts would take up the slack left by the departure of Davante Adams with Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, and rookies Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs among the contenders.

It’s early days, but it looks like Doubs might just be the man. The former Nevada wideout was drafted in the fourth round and gained big training camp buzz and it seems to have stuck, with number 87 looking like a key part of this offense.

Across four weeks, he leads the Packers in receiving yards, catches, and has caught more touchdown passes than anybody. In part, that has been down to injuries in the WR room, but since Week 3 he has undoubtedly been the WR1, leading the team with 24.2% target share and in yards after the catch. Impressively, the rookie has 124 yards after the catch this season, which leads every other wideout from his class, including the likes of Chris Olave and Garrett Wilson.

Finally, if you need more proof of how integral the 22-year has been to start the season over the past fortnight, he has been the first read 29.5% of the time, a team-high, and led the team in routes run with 63.

He’s scored in both of his previous two games, against the Bucs and Patriots, and is +220 to find the end zone in London. Given how important he has become, getting eight targets in each of the last two weeks, that looks like huge value and is a bet well worth making.

My best bet: Romeo Doubs anytime touchdown (+220 at PointsBet)

Giants vs Packers spread analysis

The Packers come into this game as strong favorites. Question marks over the health of the Giants’ Daniel Jones got an ankle injury last week, which leaves him as a doubt to play, with Tyrod Taylor also in concussion protocol.

You’d imagine that the Giants will try and get Jones on the field, and he has been in practice, but there is still a chance that Davis Webb could get called up from the practice squad before the game on Sunday.

A 23-7 defeat in Week 1 made the world question whether the Packers and Rodgers stood any chance of playoffs this season but they’ve bounced back well, winning all three games since and looking better with each outing. The defense, in particular, has been impressive with Rashan Gary looking like one of the best players in the NFL on current form.

Ultimately, favorites are 18-12-1 ATS since the first NFL game in London back in 2007 and even more importantly favorites of six or more points are 6-0 ATS. That’s something to keep in mind and I’ll be putting my money on the Packers covering here. As impressive as the Giants have been to start the season, I think that a half-fit Jones, devoid of the ability to rush, or even worse his backups, won’t be enough to cause problems for this Packers defense.

Giants vs Packers Over/Under analysis

The points total for Giants at Packers has stood firm at 41.5 since opening. I’m fairly confident that we’ll see the Under land here. Both teams are in the top half when it comes to the least amount of scrimmage yards allowed per game, with only four teams averaging less than the Packers' 294.8 yards per game.

With the Giants’ health issues at quarterback, it’s hard to imagine them being quite as dynamic as they have been in the first month of the season. It’s also worth noting that the Packers have really relied heavily on the ground game this season, with the injuries and uncertainty at receiver giving them a good reason to lean on the great duo of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon.

Last week, they only had 45 more yards through the air than on the ground and the story was the same in their win over the Bears. If they run the ball more, then it goes without saying that the clock will be eaten up quickly and we’ll see a lower-scoring game.

Don’t overthink this one, everything around this game points towards backing the Under, including trends, with the Under 22-5-2 in the Giants' past 29 games and it’s also 4-0 in the Packers' last four games against NFC opponents.
