Best Week 14 first TD scorer props

Prop bet #1: Can do Kamara

When looking at this week’s slate, the first place most people will start won’t be Panthers at Saints. But for us, in our search for value among First Touchdown Scorers, it will. The Panthers have seen their opponents score the first touchdown in five of their past six games, and with a trend like that, we have to pick a Saints’ player to open the scoring.

With Chris Olave having an illness midweek and Taysom Hill dealing with injuries, it makes our decision easier. We’re going to take the Alvin Kamara odds

The Panthers have allowed 20 touchdowns to running backs this season, and if anybody can take advantage of this Panthers’ defense, it’s Kamara.

Alvin Kamara prop: First touchdown scorer (+370 at DraftKings)

Prop bet #2: Not shy about Kyren

The Ravens may be strong favorites for their game against the Rams, but with the lack of clarity over who’ll take red zone carries for the Ravens between Gus Edwards, Keaton Mitchell, and Lamar Jackson, it means the Rams’ Kyren Williams odds are lowest at +750 to opening the scoring in this tilt.

I really fancy the Rams to surprise people here, so it makes sense for me to back a Ram. Realistically, that has to be Williams. The Ravens’ defense is very good against the run, but they are exceptional against the pass, meaning we have to consider backing a player who can do business on the ground.

Kyren Williams prop: First touchdown scorer (+750 at bet365)

Prop bet #3: Airing it to Jordan

We’re going for a big price at +2000, but I think there’s value to be had. Firstly, I think C.J. Stroud is already one of the league’s Top 10 quarterbacks, and he’s climbing up that list quickly. Regardless of the injury to Tank Dell, I think he’ll be able to lead his team to a win here vs. the Jets.

The Dell injury opens up the pass-catching possibilities, and one man who I think could prosper is Texans tight end Brevin Jordan. The Jets have allowed seven touchdowns to tight ends this season, tied for the most in the NFL. If anybody has a chance of stepping up and helping Nico Collins in the passing game, it’s Jordan.

Brevin Jordan prop: First touchdown scorer (+2000 at BetMGM)
