The Miami Dolphins will look to build on a three-game winning streak and keep their long-shot playoff hopes alive as they visit the New York Jets on Sunday.

Neither offense is exactly explosive, which is why I’m taking the Under in my Dolphins vs. Jets predictions.

Read on to see my full analysis of this AFC East matchup in my NFL picks for December 7.

Dolphins vs Jets prediction

Dolphins vs Jets Best bet: Under 41.5 (-120)

This isn’t going to be a game that will thrill fans of the passing game. The New York Jets rank 30th in the NFL in yards per passing attempt (5.2), and while Miami fares slightly better in that regard, Tua Tagovailoa hasn’t thrown for more than 200 yards in any of his last three games as the Dolphins have leaned heavily into the rushing attack as of late.

That gives us two reasons to expect a lower-scoring affair on Sunday. Breece Hall and De’von Achane are the most dangerous weapons on the field, and both will keep the clock running on the ground. That should limit possessions and result in long, time-consuming drives.

But even ignoring that prediction, these aren’t offenses that put up a lot of points. The Miami Dolphins are averaging 20.6 ppg, and the Jets are just below that number at 20.5 ppg.

Miami has hit the Under in four straight games, three of which came with totals of 41 points or less, while neither New York nor any of its opponents have scored more than 27 points in any of its last four contests.

Alone, each of these trends could be dismissed as noise; together, they’re a clear signal on how to approach this game. I’m backing the Under on Sunday.

Dolphins vs Jets same-game parlay

While the Dolphins should be a slight favorite in this game, the Jets have tremendous value at home on the moneyline at +130, and they can easily win a low-scoring affair.

Breece Hall is the most likely scorer for New York, having scored in three of his last five games, including last week against the Atlanta Falcons.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
