Washington vs Oregon Picks and Predictions for December 12

Washington LB Zion Tupuola-Fetui has seven sacks through four games this season for the 3-1 Huskies, and should be able to wreak some havoc against the Oregon Ducks this Saturday.

Editor's Note: Announced Thursday, Washington vs. Oregon is canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.

Oregon might as well be my cable provider. Or any other service that I pay for when there are quality issues. The world of college football betting has seen the Ducks follow up high expectations with some serious disappointment—in the form of two consecutive losses.

Just like when you change addresses and you excitedly fire up that new cable box only to get a ridiculous error message, the Ducks didn’t give us what we were promised this season. Let’s see if they can turn things around with a win this weekend.

Here are our best college football free picks and predictions for Washington at Oregon, with kickoff scheduled for Saturday, December 12 at 4:00 ET.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

Customer service. I said, CUSTOMER SERVICE. What am I calling about? I’m calling about the loss to Cal. How did you lose to Cal?! No, I don’t want a refund. I want you to fix things because this is what I paid for! The Ducks are coming off that disappointing 21-17 defeat to the Golden Bears, but now they return home for another conference battle that should get them back in the win column. While running back Travis Dye did a little bit of everything for Oregon with 156 total yards last week, the Ducks simply didn’t get enough production on offense.

The Huskies are coming off a loss of their own, falling to 31-26 to Stanford, their first defeat of the season. Washington is still easing in quarterback Dylan Morris, who has thrown for four touchdowns and three interceptions this season. Fortunately, running back Sean McGrew has done his part with 227 yards and four scores of his own.

Oregon always plays well at Autzen Stadium, and I expect to the Ducks to prevail. However, the Huskies have played three games within six points this season, and this one should be close as well.

PREDICTION: Washington +6.0 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

I overestimated Oregon’s offense coming into the season, and the Huskies will want to be as balanced as they can. The Under is 9-1 in Washington’s last 10 games as a road dog and defense should rule the day in Eugene.

PREDICTION: Under 55.5 (-110)

Team Total Pick

The Ducks have plenty of talent on their roster, but some of that should be mitigated by a Washington defense that includes linebacker Zion Tupuola-Fetui and his seven sacks. Cal provided a decent blueprint on how to slow down Oregon, and I expect the Huskies to succeed in following it. Maybe they can even record the game if they can get their DVR to work.

PREDICTION: Oregon team total Under 30.5 (-118)
