Washington has done nothing to inspire confidence as a two-score favorite against a live conference opponent. The offense is averaging 20 points per game against FBS teams, and that's against two non-conference opponents (Washington State, Utah State).
The rushing attack has yet to get going (95th in EPA per rush), and the offense hasn't been efficient enough (75th in EPA per play) to expect a wide margin.
Minnesota has a quality quarterback in Drake Lindsey and can stay within this number in a low-scoring game.
COVERS INTEL: Washington's offense hasn't generated enough big plays, ranking 116th in explosiveness. That's hard to do when Demond Williams Jr. is your quarterback, which emphasizes a lack of difference-makers at the skill positions.

This game should be a slog. The Gophers rank 116th in seconds per play (29.5) and will want to grind this game to a halt on the road, and the Huskies (84th) will be happy to oblige.
Minnesota's offense also lacks explosiveness (112th). The line can't block yet again (133rd in line yards), star running back Darius Taylor is banged up again, and it's hard to see a crooked number against a stingy Washington defense (fourth in EPA per play).
On the flip side, the Huskies really miss their top two tailbacks, Quaid Carr and Jayden Limar. The passing attack has been fine (68th in EPA per pass), but not good enough to carry the load, and Minnesota has a talented defense led by Anthony Smith up front and John Nestor in the secondary.

Washington has gotten off to sluggish and low-scoring starts in both of its FBS games, holding a 10-0 lead at half over Washington State and a 10-7 lead over Utah State.
Minnesota presents more resistance than either team, and it can keep it close and low-scoring while the Huskies take time to work through their offensive inefficiencies.
