With Ottawa staring down history for all the wrong reasons, my Stampeders vs. Redblacks predictions and CFL picks expect Vernon Adams Jr. & Co. to take care of business as 2.5-point road favorites.
Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. ET from TD Place in Ottawa, with the game airing on TSN.
Who will win Stampeders vs Redblacks: Stampeders -2.5 (-110)
Just when you thought the Ottawa Redblacks had notched their first win of the season, Rene Paredes drilled a 62-yard field goal at the buzzer to lift the Calgary Stampeders from the depths of defeat. Ottawa now faces a 0-14 start, which would match the worst start to a season in CFL history.
Calgary piled up nearly 500 yards of net offence in last week’s 40-38 win over Ottawa, but penalties nearly proved costly, with the Stamps taking 14 compared to just four for the Redblacks.
With the Stamps' scoring unit still averaging 32.4 points per game, there’s plenty to like about Calgary heading into the rematch, especially against a Redblacks defence surrendering a league-worst 35.8 points per contest. Calgary also runs the ball at the second-highest rate in the CFL, and Ottawa’s front seven has struggled against the ground game, allowing 5.8 yards per carry.
Calgary was listed at -7.5 ahead of last week’s matchup against Ottawa and is now down to -2.5, but I’m not going to overreact given the inordinate number of flags thrown against Dave Dickenson’s squad. With the Stamps still motivated and Ottawa reeling from another heartbreaking loss, I’m backing Calgary all the way to -6.5.

Stampeders vs Redblacks total prediction: Over 62.5 (-110)
Expect plenty of points between these two teams after they combined for 78 last week, with QBs Vernon Adams Jr. and McLeod Bethel-Thompson each eclipsing 300 passing yards.
Calgary is 11-3 to the Over this season, while the Redblacks have gone Over 62.5 in three of their last four contests. Both rank as the CFL’s two worst teams in points allowed per game, so I’m comfortable playing this total up to 64.5.

Before last week’s two-point loss to Calgary, five of Ottawa’s previous six defeats came by double digits, and I expect a much more convincing Stampeders win this time around.
