The LSU Tigers have done little to instill confidence this year, but facing a huge spread against Florida in a classic look-ahead spot, there may be some value in the not-defending-anymore champs.

It’s hard to write about LSU without imaging everything in the voice of head coach Ed Orgeron. And truthfully, that might be a more entertaining product than the Tigers have put on the field this season. When you’re fresh off a national championship, you’ve got some leeway, but both Coach O and college football betting enthusiasts alike will need plenty of it when the Tigers meet highly-ranked Florida this weekend.

Let’s check out our best college football free picks and predictions for LSU at No. 6 Florida. It’s an evening affair at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, with kickoff scheduled for Saturday, December 12 at 7:00 ET.

Against the Spread (ATS) Pick

Any dreams that the Tigers had of winning back-to-back titles were dashed early in the season, but that wasn’t exactly unexpected. They lost a ton of talent to the NFL. Still, a 3-5 record at this point in the year is not something that most would have predicted. The Tigers were smashed 55-17 by Alabama last weekend, and they were never in it.

Florida, meanwhile, has experienced no such problems. The Gators have clinched a spot in the SEC Championship Game against Bama and pulled away to beat Tennessee 31-19 last weekend. Quarterback Kyle Trask continues to make his best case for the Heisman Trophy, throwing for 433 yards and four touchdowns versus the Vols in Knoxville.

It’s tempting to go with the Gators at home, but they face a similar quandary as Oklahoma—hitting the road in a game where they want to remain sharp but not risk injuries to their best players. It feels like this line is a touch inflated based on LSU’s ineffectiveness against Bama, so I’ll grab the points with the Tigers. Florida will be looking ahead.

PREDICTION: LSU +23.0 (-110)

Over/Under Pick

In a normal situation, I’d put money on the Over, but I would be stunned if Trask plays the entire game. There’s just no reason for the Gators to take that chance. The Under has hit in four of Florida’s last six overall, and I’ll sprinkle some cash on that side of the number.

PREDICTION: Under 55.5 (-110)

Team Total Prop Pick

LSU has clearly been unimpressive this year, but the Tigers should be motivated to salvage at least a part of their season by being competitive against a rival team. They won’t win, but they’ll perform better than expected with the Gators waiting for their title game matchup against the Tide.

PREDICTION: LSU team total Over 22.5 (-103)
