Pittsburgh upset Stanford in a surprise to open the ACC Tournament and will need to be even better here against NC State.

I have difficulty seeing that happening, though, as the Panthers relied on a short rotation and physicality to exhaust the Cardinal, making me wonder if they’ll have anything left in the tank here. The matchup itself looms large as well.

Pittsburgh vs NC State prediction

Pittsburgh vs NC State State best bet

Pittsburgh vs NC State best bet: N.C. State -9.5 (-110)

The NC State Wolfpack comes into this matchup losers of three straight. With that in mind, I feel you’re getting a bit of a discount on the price in this one, and I’ll buy low on State as a consequence.

NC State's pick & pop offense is one of the best in the country, ranking in the 97th percentile, and Pittsburgh's pick & pop defense allows over one point per possession against such sets. That's the most lopsided mismatch in the game.

Every ball screen with a popping big is free money for the Wolfpack. That, coupled with the spot, is enough here.

Pittsburgh vs NC State same-game parlay

I paired my best bet with the Under.

Again, Pitt playing yesterday plays a part, but so does how that game was played. The Panthers played with great force and bullied the Cardinals around the rim, finding just enough offense. I think they’ll struggle to do that here, both due to the spot and a strong Wolfpack interior defense.

Pittsburgh vs NC State State SGP

  • NC State -7.5
  • Under 145.5

Our beyond the arc SGP: Hustle and Game Flow

Our first two legs aim to pair the concept of our best bet. Darrion Williams is the top option on those pick-and-pop sets, and Quadir Copeland is pretty much the only facilitator of them. With that in mind, I took the Over on Copeland's assists prop and Williams to knock down a trio of threes.

To finish things off, I took Ven-Allen Lubin, the best rebounder on the floor, to exceed his rebound total. I expect a good amount of misses with my Under bet, so it only makes sense given the game flow.

Pittsburgh vs N.C. State SGP

  • NC State -8.5
  • Quadir Copeland Over 6.5 assists
  • Darrion Williams Over 2.5 made threes
  • Ven-Allen Lubin Over 8.5 rebounds

Pittsburgh vs NC State odds

  • Spread: Pittsburgh +8.5 | NC State -8.5
  • Moneyline: Pittsburgh +255 | NC State -315
  • Over/Under: Over 145.5 | Under 145.5
