The Butler Bulldogs seem to be turning things around and roll into Omaha looking to continue a three-game winning streak and inch closer to Big East Conference leader UConn.
Standing in their way as heavy favorites according to the college basketball odds is a No. 13-ranked Creighton Bluejays program with a three-game winning streak of their own backed by a sometimes-raucous CHI Health Center Omaha crowd.

Butler Bulldogs guard Pierre Brooks II is one of the best shooters in the nation and he’s been lights out from downtown this season.
The Michigan State transfer has played great ball on both ends of the floor since joining the Bulldogs, but his exceptional shooting from behind the arc is partially responsible for Butler’s 14-7 record and their three-game winning streak.
Brooks is draining a career-high 42% from beyond the arc this season on 6.3 triple attempts per contest. The Detroit native is shooting a career-best 47% from inside the arc and 73% from the charity stripe.
The Bulldogs junior guard has always been a scorer, but this season Brooks has seen his career points per game average soar 10 points to 16.6 per night, which increases to 17.9 ppg when wearing the visitor’s jersey.
Additionally, Brooks is a capable passer and playmaker. He’s averaging 1.1 dimes per tilt, but he’s had eight multiple-assist games, which makes his Over 15.5 points +assists prop at DraftKings very enticing.
Finally, the Bulldogs sniper is coming off a tough shooting night at home against Villanova, but I expect a big evening from Brooks. He’s cleared the oddsmakers’ number in three of his last four overall. The Creighton Bluejays are a great defensive team that can wreak havoc on a less experienced guard, but the veteran Brooks has been money all season on the road, is a good facilitator when needed, and he’ll clear this prop.

This three-leg same-game parlay card pays $500 for a $100 stake and while it isn’t identical to my best bet it still correlates very well.
Brooks scoring is what is the fuel for our best bet, and I see him scoring at least 17 points. He’s a gamer and has gotten 17 in hostile environments like Xavier, Marquette, St. John’s, and Providence, and he won’t be fazed by this crowd.
Bluejays big man Ryan Kalkbrenner can shoot it a bit. The Creighton center takes nearly two attempts from downtown per night at home and connects on 30.4% of them. He’s 0-for-3 over his last three attempts at CHI Health Center Omaha but Butler plays average 3-point defense and Kalkbrenner should connect on one this Friday.
Finally, I like the Over 147.5 for the final leg. These are big scoring teams and Butler has an Over/Under record of 4-2-0 as the away team. The Over/Under is 6-5-0 in Creighton home games and I believe this one ends Over the total.

Butler vs Creighton spread and Over/Under analysis
Neither the bookmakers nor the public seem to have much confidence in the Bulldogs’ recent strong play, as evidenced by the Bluejays opening favored by as many as -9.5 points.
The number has dipped at most sportsbooks to -9, but that’s a big number for a Creighton side that is 4-7-0 ATS at home this season. The Bluejays are 1-4-0 ATS over their last five and 0-5-0 ATS over their past five home tilts.
Butler doesn’t cover the spread consistently either. They are 2-3-0 ATS over their past five and 2-4-0 ATS as the away team. That doesn’t lend much confidence to either side of that line, and why I would lean towards Butler covering the +9.5 at numerous U.S. sportsbooks.
The Bulldogs are on a scoring tear, and I expect that to continue Friday night in Omaha. Brooks has been hot, but he isn’t the only one playing well. Guard D.J. Davis has scored 17+ in each of his previous three tilts, and as a result the total record is 4-1-0 to the Over across Butler’s last five overall. Creighton plays elite defense at times, but their games have ended Over the total in each of their last three.
My lean is a Butler victory. Creighton has reeled off four consecutive victories at home but none of them were easy. They could be ripe for the picking against a hot Butler team that can shoot and defend while boasting better free-throw shooters. Butler has a huge upset away victory over Marquette already, and I’m leaning towards the Bulldogs winning what I believe will be a high-scoring affair.
