The Los Angeles Lakers are getting a glimpse of Luka Doncic as a headline act, and they’ll look for an encore performance tonight against the Sacramento Kings.

Doncic dropped 49 points on the Timberwolves on Friday as L.A. bagged its first win of the season, and my Lakers vs. Kings predictions expect JJ Redick’s squad to take care of business in their first road game of the year.

Lakers vs Kings prediction

Lakers vs Kings best bet: Lakers -2.5 (-115)

In-shape Luka Doncic is a scary sight for the rest of the NBA, and it gives the Los Angeles Lakers every chance of hanging in the Western Conference playoff hunt, even without LeBron James.

Friday’s win over the Timberwolves was the blueprint for how L.A. wants to play, with Doncic carrying a heavy load, backed by strong contributions from Austin Reaves and Rui Hachimura, and I expect to see a similar formula against Sacramento.

Though Doncic is listed as questionable with a finger injury, it would be a surprise if he misses tonight’s contest, and I’m still laying the points with a Lakers team that went 45-35-2 ATS last season.

They shot 59% from the field against Minnesota, and they’ve won four straight matchups against the Sacramento Kings, covering the spread in each of those victories.

Meanwhile, the Kings, who were just 14-25-3 ATS at home last year, have a lot of mouths to feed offensively, starting with Zach LaVine (questionable) and DeMar DeRozan, and barely edged past the Jazz on Friday.

Either way, the hosts’ defensive limitations are the biggest reason to pick L.A. in this spot. Who is guarding the Lakers’ backcourt in a Sacramento starting five that includes a string of minus defenders? With no clear answer, I’m wagering on the visitors.

Lakers vs Kings same-game parlay

Reaves is off to a flier this year. He’s gone past this points prop number in both of L.A.’s outings, including 26 points on opening night, and his shot volume should remain steady as long as he’s the No.2 scoring option. I don’t see the Kings slowing him down.

I’ll also take the Over on Reaves’ assists tally. He dished 20 dimes across his first two contests, and he’ll have an even bigger share of the playmaking if Doncic’s finger issue flares up. Reaves also had a career-high 16 assists in a win over the Kings last season.

Lakers vs Kings SGP

  • Lakers -2.5
  • Austin Reaves Over 23.5 points
  • Austin Reaves Over 6.5 assists

Our "from downtown" SGP:

Give me some of the Russell Westbrook action too, with the former Laker likely to bring a little extra juice against L.A. here.

Westbrook is still settling into a bench role in Sacramento, but he finished with four assists on Friday, and he’ll be surrounded by professional bucket-getters when he’s on the floor.

Lakers vs Kings SGP

  • Lakers -2.5
  • Austin Reaves Over 23.5 points
  • Austin Reaves Over 6.5 assists
  • Russell Westbrook Over 2.5 assists

Lakers vs Kings odds

  • Spread: Los Angeles -2.5 | Sacramento +2.5
  • Moneyline: Los Angeles -150 | Sacramento +125
  • Over/Under: Over 226.5 | Under 226.5
