Devastating power puncher Francis Ngannou is back to reclaim his reputation as the baddest man on the planet, but first must dispatch of tune-up opponent Philipe Lins on MVP MMA 1’s inaugural event on Saturday, May 16.

This featured heavyweight clash is sure to deliver excitement to the live crowd inside the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, as well as to everyone at home watching on Netflix.

Current MVP MMA betting odds favor Ngannou as a -1400 favorite to win the fight, so we’ll look for value elsewhere in my Ngannou vs. Lins predictions and free betting picks for this high-profile showcase fight.

This is essentially a squash match that strongly favors the former decorated world champion, Francis Ngannou.

Despite not being overly active in MMA these past few years, the Cameroonian slugger still sports an impressive 96% finish rate in 18 pro wins and looks poised to pick up where he left off en route to another spectacular finish victory.

His opponent, Philipe Lins, isn’t a complete jobber, but he’s got virtually nothing going for him in this fight. The Brazilian hasn’t competed in over two years, and last saw action inside the cage down at 205 pounds.

Lins’ only path to victory is landing a lucky punch, and he just so happens to be taking on the biggest power puncher the division has ever seen.

It’s no secret what Francis Ngannou’s approach in MMA is; he is a tremendous puncher who has finished his last 10 wins by knockout, including 9 inside of the very first round.

He doesn't just like to separate his opponents from consciousness, but he likes to do it as quickly as possible.

This approach doesn’t bode well for opponent Philipe Lins, who has been finished inside the distance in four of his five career losses, including three knockouts or TKOs in the very first round.

You could play it safe and take Ngannou anytime knockout at (-540), but given the history of both fighters, it’s safe to say this fight doesn’t get over the 1.5 rounds mark.

Covers COVERS INTEL: All four of Philipe Lins’ knockout losses are to former light-heavyweights (3 of 4 in round 1)
