The Utah Jazz bring the best record in the NBA to the Lone Star State as they tangle with Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks on Monday night.

The Jazz are a terrific 31-18 ATS but haven't been the best NBA betting option in recent weeks as oddsmakers seem to have adjusted. That said, they still opened as 5.5-point road favorites for this clash against the Mavs.

Here are our best free Jazz vs. Mavericks picks and predictions for Monday, April 5, with tipoff at 7 p.m. ET.

Betting trend to know

The Jazz are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games against a team with a winning home record. Find more NBA betting trends for Jazz vs. Mavericks.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

The Mavericks return to Dallas after a strong road trip which they ended with four straight SU and ATS wins. In their last outing, they crushed the Wizards by 22 points despite missing Kristaps Porzingis, Josh Richardson, and Maxi Kleber (Washington was without Bradley Beal). The Mavs might be missing all three of those starters again as they are all listed as questionable for tonight's contest.

The Mavericks began the season with some ugly play but have turned things around over the last two months. All-NBA guard Luka Doncic has carried the team with 28.6 points, 8.8 assists, and 8.1 rebounds per game. They are 18-7 SU in their last 25 games while going 13-7 ATS over their previous 20 contests.

Utah remains atop the league standings with a 38-11 mark and is fresh off a 46-point rout of Orlando. The Jazz are the highest-rated team in the league in offensive efficiency and have five players averaging over 14 points per game, led by Donovan Mitchell and his 25.6 ppg.

The Jazz are riding a nine-game winning streak but haven't been the ATS darlings they were earlier in the year when they were cashing tickets at a record pace, as they are a middling 6-10 ATS since the beginning of March.

It's tough to completely trust the Mavs until the status of Porzingis and Richardson becomes clear. But considering how well they have played recently, and with the Jazz going just 2-6 ATS in their last eight games on the road, we'll grab the home side with the points.

PREDICTION: Dallas +4.5 (-110)

Over/Under pick

The Mavericks have been very stingy on the defensive end of the floor lately, allowing just 101 points per game over their last eight contests.

Dallas also plays at a very slow tempo, ranking 28th in the league in possessions per game. That combination of sluggish pace and solid defense have led to the Mavs cashing the Under in seven straight games at home.

We mentioned how efficient the Jazz are on offense but they are also excellent at shutting down opponents, ranking fourth in the league in defensive efficiency, and holding opponents to a 44.6 field goal percentage.

Utah center Rudy Gobert is the betting favorite to win his third Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Jazz limit foes to 107.1 ppg, with that number dropping to 94.8 ppg over their last four contests. With Utah going below the total in four of its last five road games, take the Under again.

PREDICTION: Under 223 (-110)

Player prop pick

One area where the Mavericks have really struggled has been on the glass where they are just 22nd in the league in rebounding rate. The Jazz are second in the league in that category, thanks in large part to Gobert, who averages 13.2 rebounds per game.

In two games against the Mavs this year, Gobert pulled down 20 boards in the first meeting before grabbing 12 rebounds across just 25 minutes in the rematch. Expect another big day on the boards for the Stifle Tower tonight.

PREDICTION: Rudy Gobert Rebounds Over 12.5 (-115)
