LeBron James returns to Cleveland for Friday's NBA Cup showdown, and my 76ers vs. Cavaliers prediction goes beyond the homecoming.

Philadelphia is favored by 2.5 points, with the total at 230.5, for the Nov. 6 tip at 7:30 p.m. ET inside Rocket Arena. An upset opportunity, a three-leg combo, and two player props merit attention.

 TOP PICK
76ers vs Cavaliers prediction: Cavaliers moneyline

I'm investing in the Cleveland Cavaliers at 43%, up to 51%, to get revenge on the Philadelphia 76ers Friday.

Cleveland blew a 29-point lead in a 114-106 loss in Philly in their first meeting, while shooting just 24.1% from three. I’m counting on a positive shooting regression at home.

Also, I'm expecting Cavs starting center Jarrett Allen to miss this game, since he got hurt last game and they host the New York Knicks on Saturday in a playoff revenge game on the second night of a back-to-back.

I wouldn't mind if Allen sat this game because that forces the Cavs to use their perimeter players more, and LeBron James and Joel Embiid don't want to defend in space.

Meanwhile, the Sixers aren't as good as their record indicates since they lead the NBA in wins above expectation, per CleaningTheGlass.com.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Philadelphia's defensive efficiency is due for regression: The Sixers are second in defensive rating but 24th in defensive shot quality, with opponents significantly underperforming expected effective field goal rate (eFG%), which blends 2- and 3-point shooting.

76ers vs Cavaliers combo

For the record, I'm only risking a quarter-unit on this combo. However, give me Cleveland's spread with James Harden's made threes prop, and the Over 230.5 as a fade of the first 76ers-Cavaliers meeting, which went Under the 236.5-point total.

That game had a 109.0 pace, and that would be by far the fastest in the NBA if it were a team. I already mentioned Cleveland's terrible shooting night, but Philly only hit 25.0% of its 3-pointers in that game, too. If they hit their season averages from 3, that meeting would've flown over the top.

Lastly, per CleaningTheGlass.com, the Sixers are 10th in offensive shot quality, and the Cavs are fifth.

76ers vs Cavaliers combo

  • Cleveland +2.5
  • Over 230.5
  • James Harden Over 2.5 made threes

76ers vs Cavaliers player props

76ers player prop: Jaylen Brown Over 19.5 points

Jaylen Brown's 20+ points prop is good up to 59%.

Brown has scored at least 20 points in five of his eight games this season, including 21 against the Cavs last month. Cleveland has a weak perimeter defense, and it doesn't have a wing who can guard Brown.

He should be able to feast on his iso opportunities, and the Sixers have enough playmakers so that the Cavaliers can't double-team him. Plus, Brown is shooting a career-best 44.4% from deep; he can get to the rack, draw shooting fouls, and hit mid-range jumpers.

Cavaliers player prop: James Harden Over 2.5 made threes

I'll take James Harden's 3+ made threes prop up to 47%.

The Beard has made at least three 3-pointers in four consecutive games and in six of his eight this season, including three against the Sixers. His role on the Cavs is a floor-spacing, traditional point guard who sets up his teammates more than vintage Harden, who played a lot more iso-ball.

In fact, 56.3% of Harden's field goal attempts are from behind the arc this season, and volume is the most important aspect of handicapping player props.
