The Cincinnati Reds seek to bring out the brooms at Citi Field, on the verge of a road sweep against the New York Mets.

However, my Reds vs Mets predictions target the Under in what should be a low-scoring affair featuring a pair of studs on the mound.

Read all about it in my MLB picks for July 20 below.

Reds vs Mets prediction

My Reds vs Mets best bet: Under 8 (-105 at Caesars)

The Under has cashed four times in the last six head-to-head matchups, which includes the Cincinnati Reds’ 5-2 win Saturday, setting up the chance for a sweep.

Cincinnati sends Andrew Abbott to the mound, who’s 8-1 with a 2.07 ERA. The lefty pitched a clean inning in the All-Star Game, after a stellar run into the break where he went 3-0 in six starts. Over that stretch, Abbott allowed one earned run or fewer in five of six outings.

New York Mets' starter, David Peterson, hasn’t been as dominant as Abbott, but he did go into the break with back-to-back starts, giving up a single earned run in each.

The Reds have seen the Under go 7-2-1 over their last 10, while the Mets have gone Under the total in five of their last seven.

Look for the trend to continue today.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Reds vs Mets same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 8

Francisco Lindor Over 1.5 total bases

David Peterson Over 4.5 strikeouts

New York shortstop Francisco Lindor was held hitless Saturday, marking three straight games he’s failed to produce a hit. That happened only three other times in the first half of the season.

Lindor is hitting .309 at home, and he’s hit Abbott hard in a small sample, going 3-for-4 with a double and a home run. If he does break out Sunday, there’s the potential of winning this leg with a single swing.

We’ll finish on Peterson, who has topped his 4.5 strikeout line in two of his last three outings.

We’re betting on three of his last four, considering he’s hit the Over in two of three career starts vs. the Reds, missing the other by a single K.
