Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll took the league by storm last season and ran away with the NL Rookie of the Year Award. He’s having a bit of a sophomore slump this season in terms of batting average (.215) and power (nine home runs), but he’s still doing a great job of setting the table in Arizona.
Carroll has accounted for 77 runs through 113 games, which puts him on pace for 110 over a full 162-game season. That’s nearly matching his 116 runs in 155 games last year, and while he’s not doing the same damage at the plate, the star outfielder is still scoring at a fantastic rate.
The outfielder has found home plate in five straight games, nine of his last 10, and 14 of his last 17 contests. On the season, Carroll has scored in 59 of 113 games.
After a slow start to the year with 26 runs in March, April, and May combined, Carroll racked up 21 runs in June (27 games) and 22 in July (23 games). He’s averaging a run-per-game pace here in August with eight runs in eight games (six starts).
Carroll is as high as -145 to score a run in tonight’s game versus the Philadelphia Phillies, so we’re getting a pretty good price at -105.
