Goals could be on the menu when Switzerland and Bosnia collide in a pivotal Group B clash. With both teams chasing a crucial result, I'm backing this matchup to clear the total.

Two teams tied on one point each face off in this potentially absorbing Group B clash in Los Angeles.

The stakes are high, with a win almost certain to guarantee the victors a place in the knockout phase.

Read on for my Switzerland vs. Bosnia predictions and World Cup picks for June 18, with the kickoff scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at SoFi Stadium.

Who will win Switzerland vs Bosnia: Switzerland (-170)

Switzerland are still smarting after missing a glut of goal opportunities against Group B outsiders Qatar (1-1) last week. I’m expecting better from a team with a stack of experience under pressure and the skills to make amends for unexpected wastefulness in their tournament opener.

The Swiss have better players than Bosnia in most areas of the pitch and will prove the point in midfield, where they should have an extra man. Against Qatar, despite the result, there were promising signs from Dan Ndoye, Breel Embolo (who scored from the penalty spot) and Ruben Vargas. I’m backing the attacking trio to be more accurate in front of goal this time.

Bosnia deserved the draw they secured in their opening fixture vs World Cup co-hosts Canada (1-1), but theirs was a moderate rather than excellent performance. Their completion rate of just 63% from 271 attempted passes is the tournament’s lowest at the time of writing; ceding possession as carelessly here will lead to stiffer punishment.

Don’t let the minus-money price on Switzerland put you off. The favorites are a strong selection, and I would play them up to -190.

 TOp pick

Switzerland vs Bosnia Over/Under pick: Over 2.5 goals (+115)

With only one point each on the board, these two teams know that defeat here would deal a potentially fatal blow to their hopes of making the knockout phase.

That should lead to an attacking approach from both sides as they look to ensure their fate lies in their own hands heading into Group B final matchday on Wednesday, June 24. Front-foot tactics are almost guaranteed from Switzerland, under enormous pressure to do better after the embarrassment of their failure to beat Qatar.

For all the criticism the Swiss have understandably faced, they had an xG of 3.20 against Qatar - the tournament’s second-highest so far, behind Germany’s 4.22 vs Curacao (7-1 win) - and their manager Murat Yakin will lean into that as he primes his players for the game.

Bosnia will expect to get sucked into a shoot-out, and their games are frequently high-scoring: their 10 fixtures over the 12 months before the World Cup kicked off averaged 3.0 goals a game.

Back Over 2.5 Goals at prices up to +100.
