The Seattle Mariners are hosting the Houston Astros in a crucial series between the top two teams in the AL West. The Mariners opened up the series with a winning effort, scoring six runs in a blowout victory.

My Astros vs. Mariners predictions expect the home offense, particularly Randy Arozarena, to shine once again in an advantageous matchup against Lance McCullers.

Let’s break it all down with my MLB picks for Saturday, July 19.

Astros vs Mariners prediction

My Astros vs Mariners best bet: Randy Arozarena Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI (+105 at Caesars)

Randy Arozarena is playing his best baseball of the season. He has averaged 3 H+R+R over his last 20 games, going over his total at a 65% clip along the way.

Houston Astros starter Lance McCullers primarily attacks right-handed bats with sinkers, sliders, and changeups, throwing those three pitches nearly 90% of the time.

Isolating those three pitch types thrown by right-handed pitchers, Arozarena is hitting .306 with a 52.17% hard hit rate over the last month. His ISO sits just below .200 in that span.

He is getting on base consistently and generating plenty of power to boot.

Arozarena faced McCullers back in May and had three at-bats, two of which resulted in the ball leaving his bat with an exit velocity of 103 mph or more. That aligns with what we’ve seen recently — Arozarena feasting on pitchers using what’s in McCullers’ arsenal.

Astros vs Mariners same-game parlay (SGP)

Randy Arozarena Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Isaac Paredes Over 1.5 hits + runs + RBI

Dominic Canzone Over 0.5 hits

Isaac Paredes is in a good matchup to do damage today.

Seattle Mariners starter Logan Evans has thrown cutters, sweepers, and sinkers more than 90% of the time vs. righties, and Paredes mashes that mix. He’s sporting a .406 average and .486 wOBA over the last month.

Dominic Canzone has recorded eight hits over his last 17 at-bats and has recorded at least one in 60% of his appearances this season.
