The total bounced between 9.5 and 10 a few times and is now 9.5 (Over -118), with ticket count almost dead even and 65 percent of money on the Over.

Starting pitchers
Dylan Bundy (0-4, 5.03 ERA): You truly never know which version of Bundy is going to show up. He’ll come out and strike out 10 batters in a quality start one night, and then he’ll get absolutely shelled the next. Last game, it was the latter. Bundy pitched just 3.1 innings and gave up six earned runs in a 14-11 loss to the Dodgers. He’ll need to lock in and avoid making mistakes against the Sox.
Martin Perez (0-2, 4.01 ERA): Perez has had an ERA of at least 4.50 in each of the last four seasons, but he’s sitting at just 4.01 right now. Look for that number to rise a bit as the season goes on, as the lefty is just easy to make contact against. Perez doesn’t have any special strikeout stuff, and he doesn’t work too late into games either. If he’s not great before handing the ball off to the bullpen, Boston will have a hard time winning.

Moneyline pick
The Angels have gotten to Perez in the past, as Mike Trout, David Fletcher and Justin Upton are a combined 14 for 46 with three home runs and 11 RBI against the lefty in their careers. The three of them have also combined to hit three doubles off of him, so it wouldn’t be a surprise if any of them drove in a couple of runs. Even Shohei Ohtani, who struggles against lefties, has the ability to go yard in this one. Perez’s stuff just isn’t overwhelming, and Ohtani just might be able to figure him out.
Bundy actually should be somewhat confident coming into this one. Sure, he’s had yet another up-and-down season, but he has also done well against J.D. Martinez in his career, and Rafael Devers is only batting .250 against the righty in his career. The one person Bundy will have to focus on keeping in line is Xander Bogaerts, who is 10 for 33 with three doubles, two homers and five RBI against him. If Bundy can prevent Bogaerts from doing real damage, he should be in for a decent outing.
PREDICTION: Angels ML -104
Over/Under pick
Since the start of last season, the Over is 20-8 when the Angels face left-handed starters, and the average amount of runs scored in those games has been just about 12. This team generally tends to get the offense going against lefties, and that shouldn’t be any different today. Perez just isn’t the type of pitcher that should be able to run through this lineup. And while Los Angeles seems like the smarter bet in this game, Bundy is likely going to slip up at least once. Overall, there should be a lot of runs scored in this one.
