The majors have been largely dominated by the best in the world over the last couple of years, but that isn't stopping me from looking further down the U.S. Open odds board for some dark horses.
Some excellent golfers are playing well beyond their long outright prices. I highlight three of those golfers in my U.S. Open sleeper picks below.

U.S. Open sleeper predictions
Sleeper pick to win: Shane Lowry

I highlighted Shane Lowry in my U.S. Open picks and want to shed more light on him as a sleeper.
The Irishman led the field in strokes gained approach and strokes gained tee to green at the Truist Championship (T2), was third and 13th at the Memorial (T23), and third and fifth at the Canadian Open (T13).
Over the last six months, Lowry is fourth in this field in true strokes gained approach, 10th from tee to green, and 10th overall. That's the statistical profile of a guy who should be listed shorter than 45/1.
Sleeper pick to win: Russell Henley
+6500 at DraftKings
Russell Henley is having the best season of his career from a strokes gained perspective, and it's showing in the results.
He's logged six Top 10s in 12 starts this season, including a huge win at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March. He's also entering the week fresh off a T5 at the Memorial, where he finished the week third from tee to green and fifth on approach.
He's missed the cut in the first two majors in 2025, but the U.S. Open is a comfortable place for him, with Top-15 finishes in three of his last four tries and a career-best T7 at Pinehurst last year.

Sleeper pick to win: Ben Griffin
+7000 at DraftKings
Ben Griffin has put the golf world on notice. It started with a team win at the Zurich Classic, but continued with a T8 at the PGA Championship, where he finished just two shots back of second place. He then went on to win the Charles Schwab Challenge and followed that up with a runner-up finish behind Scottie Scheffler at the Memorial.
Excluding Scheffler, Ben Griffin has lost to six golfers in his last three starts. Over the last month, he's fifth in this field in total strokes gained, fourth in putting, and 10th from tee to green.
