US Open Round 4 picks

Sam Burns is tied for seventh going into the final round, just three shots back of the leaders. As Saturday showed us, making up three shots is definitely possible. Burns has had two over-par rounds and he is still within striking distance. In between his one over 71s in the first and third round was a nice 67. A similar round would put him in a position to win the U.S. Open.
Pick: Sam Burns outright (+1,600)

Keegan Bradley has put himself in a position to win the second major of his career. The 36-year-old has found something in his game, tied for fourth and just two shots back of the leaders. Bradley might not win, but he should finish in the Top 5.
Pick: Keegan Bradley Top-5 finish (+150)

The greens have firmed up, the winds have picked up, and the golf course is starting to show its teeth. In the second round, there were 28 rounds under par. On Saturday, there were seven. The two golfers who are in the lead have never had this sort of pressure before. I like 4-under to win this tournament.
Pick: Winning score 5-under or worse (-110)

Morikawa opened with a 69. The two other times he had a first-round score in the 60s at a major were the 2021 Open Championship and the 2020 PGA Championship. He won both of them.
Pick: Collin Morikawa outright (+450)

Schauffele is doing what Schauffele does in U.S. Opens — lurking below the leaders, getting ready for Moving Day on Saturday. He shot an even-par 70 in the first round and was four shots out of the lead. On Friday, he posted a 1-under 69 and remained four back of leaders, Morikawa and Dahmen. Look for a low number from Schauffele in the third round and a big jump up the leaderboard.
Pick: Xander Schauffele Top-5 finish (+240)

Kim sits at a tie for 24th and with the open-round jitters behind him should be able to improve on his first 36 holes. At +330 to finish in the Top 20, it’s a great value bet.
Pick: Joo-Hyung Kim Top-20 finish (+330)

Max Homa is just three strokes back of the lead and is oozing confidence heading into Friday. The putter is going to heat up at some point and if he can keep up this iron play, he can be in contention come Sunday.
Pick: Max Homa outright (+3,000)

Even though Rahm has had disappointing results in majors so far this season, he had nine Top-10 finishes in his previous 15 major starts and has all the tools to succeed on this course.
Pick: Jon Rahm Top-5 finish (+225)

Corey Conners has the game to be successful on this course and has been much more consistent than Webb Simpson of late — back him to have the better performance Friday.

Hovland’s short game is still very bad. How bad? He has lost strokes around the greens in seven out of nine PGA Tour events in 2022. Meanwhile, Im ranks 17th in the field around the greens over the last 24 rounds.
Pick: Sungjae Im over Viktor Hovland (-105)

Noren has been doing everything a little better than Leish recently. Most importantly, he’s finding fairways much more often, scrambling better, and saving more pars from the sand.
Pick: Alex Noren over Marc Leishman (-105)

Five career U.S. Open starts, to the tune of three Top-5 finishes and nothing worse than... wait for it... T7. Yes, last year's T7 at Torrey Pines is his worst U.S. Open finish in five tries.
Pick: Xander Schauffele to win (+2,200)

Fitz is on a lot of tickets to win this week and his outright number has fallen as low as 22/1 at some books. So, 18/1 for this prop is very enticing, considering the likelihood of a stacked leaderboard of these five elites at the end.
Pick: Matthew Fitzpatrick to win without Thomas, Rahm, McIlroy, Scheffler, and Schauffele (+1,800)

Are Brooks' days of winning multiple majors a year behind him? Probably. However, with the U.S. Open and major championship profile that Brooks has, this number is way too good to pass up.

Hoge just kept bouncing back in the difficult, U.S. Open-like conditions at Southern Hills, so it’s no surprise that he ranks ninth in the field this week for bogey avoidance over the last 50 rounds.
