The Atlanta Dream came back from an 11-point deficit to secure a 15-point win over the Washington Mystics in Game 1, and I'm expecting them to wrap up the series tonight.
Washington commits more turnovers per game than any other WNBA team (15.5), and that showed in Game 1, when the Mystics turned the ball over 22 times against a Dream defense that leads the league in steal rate (10.2%).
Atlanta scores too many points for the Mystics to keep up with while making that many mistakes. I'm taking the Dream to cover at -5.5 or less.
COVERS INTEL: The Mystics ranked third-worst in the league in points per play this season (0.91), and that's made it hard for Washington to keep up with an Atlanta offense averaging 91.3 ppg.

The Dream like to push the pace and score relatively efficiently, ranking fourth in the WNBA in offensive rating (111.9). Down the stretch, that's led to Atlanta hitting the Over in three of its last four games, including in Game 1 of this series. Washington has also hit the Over in seven of its previous 10 contests, and I'm backing the Over tonight.
With plenty of points on the table, I'm also picking Allisha Gray to score 20-plus points. The Atlanta guard averaged 19.0 ppg in the regular season, and she stepped up to score 22 points in Game 1. That's the second time she's gone off for 20-plus points against Washington this season, and I'm banking on her to make it three straight on Wednesday.
