The Indiana Fever’s hopes of advancing are already on thin ice after the Las Vegas Aces punched them in the mouth on Sunday, but Caitlin Clark and Co. are -1.5 favorites to get payback tonight in Game 2 as I make my Aces vs Fever predictions.
A’ja Wilson gave Indiana fits in Game 1, but a trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse will test even Las Vegas’ championship mettle, and my WNBA picks envision the hosts leveling the series.
Here are my WNBA picks ahead of this Sept. 29 matchup, with tipoff at 6:30 pm ET.
Aces vs Fever prediction: Fever moneyline
It’s a win-or-go-home scenario for the Indiana Fever, but I expect the hosts’ elite offense (96 PPG) to show up tonight and rattle the Las Vegas Aces. I’d bet this up to 55%.
The Fever are 11-5 straight up after a loss and 15-7 SU at home this season, and they won two of their three outings at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in the 2025 playoffs.
Look for Aliyah Boston to do a better job in the paint against A’ja Wilson, who took over in Game 1. The Fever will also get more efficient nights from Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, who combined to go 10-for-33 shooting on Sunday.
A faster pace will suit the Fever, too. That’s one area where the Aces could be vulnerable, but we didn’t see Indiana in full flight in the series opener, with Las Vegas’ 59% shooting limiting transition chances.
COVERS INTEL: Pace is the key for the Fever, who are averaging 99.8 PPG at Gainbridge Fieldhouse this year, and more success in the turnover battle can unlock transition buckets and open looks for an Indiana team that shot a league-best 39% from downtown in the regular season.
Aces vs Fever combo
The Game 1 total blew past the Over despite the Fever shooting 45% from the field. I'm buying into more up-tempo fireworks tonight, with Indiana ranking third in pace but struggling to get stops.
The Over is 5-2 in the Fever's last seven outings, while the Aces are averaging 97.9 PPG during their current eight-game winning streak.
While Wilson's heroics grabbed the headlines over the weekend, Indiana will surely cook up some different counters and schemes for the reigning MVP now. That's why I'm looking at Jackie Young to round out this combo.
Young quietly chipped in with 21 points and 10 assists in the series opener, and she's dished out 10+ dimes in three straight games. If Wilson is doubled in the post, Las Vegas' guard play will take on even greater importance.

The spotlight is on Clark tonight as she tries to avoid an early exit from the postseason, and I’m expecting a monster performance.
Clark finished with 10 assists in Game 1 despite the Fever faltering offensively (85 points on 45% shooting). There’s a nice floor for this pick, with the Indiana star logging 9+ dimes in 12 of her past 17 outings.
Indiana desperately needs to find ways to get out in transition for easy buckets, and those are the opportunities for Clark’s playmaking to shine against a retreating Las Vegas defense. Plus, on a must-win night, her workload could nudge up to 35 minutes, providing ample volume for this Over.
