Islam Makhachev vs Ian Machado Garry

Prediction: Over 4.5 rounds
55% probability at Kalshi

"Makhachev’s primary skill has always been his world-class wrestling, but that’s an area where Garry has improved considerably.

Despite being known as a striker, Garry has been taken down just twice in his last 17 attempts faced. If he can defend the takedowns and keep this fight on the feet, it’s wide open for him to win.

The problem is that Garry isn’t much of a finisher. His last six fights have gone to the judges’ scorecards, and 73% of his UFC appearances have gone the distance.

Makhachev, meanwhile, is the more proven finisher, but since moving up to welterweight, he’s fought just once — a rather uninspiring decision win over former champ Jack Della, where the Russian mostly just laid on top of him.

Garry has never been finished, and even if he can’t stop the takedowns, he’s unlikely to get put away. Over 4.5 rounds is the way to go."

Mackenzie Dern vs Gillian Robertson

Prediction: Dern by decision
34% probability at Kalshi

"Robertson has proven to be a quality finisher when facing opponents with poor takedown and submission defense, and her offense is based on top control and submission attempts.

She can’t fall back on her striking, and Dern has shown she can survive against quality grapplers and outwork them on the feet, so I expect more of the same here.

Dern will work behind her takedown defense and superior striking to secure a decision."

Jalin Turner vs Kaue Fernandes

Prediction: Under 1.5 rounds
57% probability at Kalshi

"Both men are exciting, do-or-die fighters with deadly power, so I could see the bout ending early either way.

Turner is huge for the division and boasts excellent boxing and counterstriking, with two first-round KO wins in his last four appearances.

Four of Fernandes’ last five wins have come by way of first-round knockout, and his leg kicks could make the difference here. Turner is clearly susceptible to the leg kick after absorbing 23 in a decision loss to Dan Hooker. If Fernandes lands that many, it’s game over."

Mansur Abdul-Malik vs Dustin Stolzfus

Prediction: Over 1.5 rounds
58% probability at Kalshi

"Malik is supposed to be some next-level prospect, but he has failed to prove that in his last number of fights. His biggest issue is his penchant for starting fights slowly, oftentimes dropping the first round before rallying later in the contest. As a result, three of his last four fights have gone Over 1.5 total rounds, and unless he’s suddenly changed his entire approach, it’s going to be more of the same here.

For all of Stoltzfus’ issues, durability isn’t necessarily one of them. In his seven UFC losses, he’s been finished inside 1.5 rounds just twice and has gone the distance in both of his most recent appearances, both against higher-level opposition than he’ll face Saturday."

Edson Barboza vs Esteban Ribovics

Prediction: Ribovics by KO/TKO/DQ
65% probability at Kalshi

"Barboza’s durability and movement have significantly decreased to the point where he is comprehensively losing fights with no silver lining.

While Ribovics’ offense is based on his athleticism, Barboza will be at a disadvantage whether this is a stand-up fight or one that gets to the mat.

There isn’t anything left for Barboza besides a last stand, and Ribovics should bring enough pressure to force a stoppage."
