The Bears ran 72 plays last week, lead the NFL in plays per game, and posted a season-high +6% PROE with Caleb Williams back under center and scrambling less. The run game is struggling, but getting D'Andre Swift involved as a pass-catcher seems to be a priority for Ben Johnson. Swift has 10 targets over the last two weeks and ran a route on 46% of dropbacks last week. The Patriots have allowed the sixth-most adjusted receiving yards to RBs, per THE BLITZ. I'm targeting receptions over yards on Thursday and have this priced at 57%.

Give me the Chicago Bears on the moneyline at 59%, as I price them closer to 62% favorites against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football. New England's offensive line enters this matchup banged up, with multiple players questionable. On a short week and on the road, communication and pass protection adjustments become more difficult. I expect Dennis Allen to exploit those weaknesses with creative pass-rush schemes and coverage disguises, helping the Bears' defense contain Drake Maye and creating value on Chicago.

With the Saints allowing 12 touchdowns to opposing running backs through six games, I would recommend Warren to find the end zone to 60%. He's posted top-five ranks in yards per carry (6.5), yards after contact per attempt (3.94) and PFF elusive rating (98.5) across the past four weeks, and Warren is also a threat through the air with a league-high 14.1 yards per reception among backs during the run.

I can get behind DK Metcalf at 2.7x, but when Germie Bernard has Aaron Rodgers' trust, is seeing double-digit targets, and is 60 points longer, I'll take the rookie who caught the game-winning touchdown last week. I have him at a fair price of 3x in an indoor matchup against a defense allowing the fourth-most TDs per game (3.5). The Steelers can put up points Sunday, and they can do it through the air. This offense is passing at the second-highest rate in football (67% DB%) and owns the fifth-highest PROE. Even if Bernard isn't getting downfield, that might actually be a good thing in an Aaron Rodgers-led offense.

Aaron Jones is a buy to 56.5% (1.77x) for me this week, coming off the bye and some much-needed rest. The Colts are going to get swallowed up by the best defense in football, and Jones is coming off 25 carries in Week 5. He also has 11 of the Vikings' 15 RB red-zone carries this season, including 100% of them in Week 5. Jordan Mason is expected to be activated Saturday, but Jones should remain the starter after handling a massive workload in his absence, averaging 21.3 carries and 92.5 rushing yards per game. The Vikings are one of the few 6+ point favorites this weekend, and both the game script and matchup look great for the lead back in this indoor offense.

Not only is the Vikings' defense ranked first in points allowed and defensive EPA, but they own the best red-zone defense in football, allowing teams to score at just a 25% clip inside the 20. That's pretty damn incredible if you ask me; this bend-don't-break mentality is going to be a huge reason this Under cashes. Offensively, Minnesota hasn't exactly been lighting up the scoreboard, averaging just 21 points per game. The Vikings don't need to be spectacular on that side of the ball to win games - they simply need to be serviceable and avoid costly mistakes. Even against a struggling Colts defense, I'm not expecting many explosive plays. Instead, this matchup has the makings of a conservative, low-scoring affair with limited scoring opportunities.

It was a tough call between Omar Cooper and tight end Mason Taylor (5.5x), but the rookie wide receiver blew up last week in his return from IR, leading the Jets in targets (7), receptions (6), and yards (104) against the Patriots. He had a 6.5x TD last week and another called back, but the move to 4.8x isn't nearly enough for a receiver capable of putting up 100 yards who now gets to face the Dolphins. I was hoping to get him at 3.5x, so seeing 4.8x was a nice surprise. Adonai Mitchell shouldn't be priced shorter than the rookie, especially coming off a finger injury. The Jets ran 11 personnel on 68% of their snaps last week, so there's room for Cooper even if Mitchell suits up. Taylor is another good look at 5x or better, as he's playing ahead of Kenyon Sadiq.

The Jets come back to MetLife Stadium for an AFC East encounter with the Miami Dolphins. This will be just the third home game for Gang Green and the team could potentially have several starters back, including RB1 Breece Hall. Miami tightens some screws on offense coming off the bye week. New QB Malik Willis isn’t afraid to push the ball down field, sitting among the leaders in intended air yards. The Fins have run into some stiff competition, facing strong defenses in Minnesota, San Francisco, and Kansas City. As for their own defense, the Dolphins are dreadful, especially where it counts most. Miami has the second worst third down defense and ranked 29th in opponent success rate heading into their Week 6 bye.

The Bengals pass rush is a quiet killer, producing the fifth highest pressure along with 17 sacks in five games despite blitzing at the second lowest rate. That frees up the Cincy linebackers to focus fire on Derrick Henry. The Ravens pass defense hasn’t faced a QB as good as Burrow since Dak Prescott and as Jason La Canfora points out, Baltimore’s corners have allowed a QB rating of 94.4 against from a group of passers with a collective rating of just 86.0. Burrow doesn’t need any help looking better than he is, currently ranked near the top in several key QB measurements. The last time he faced Jesse Minter’s defense, he passed for 356 yards and three touchdowns versus the L.A. Chargers in 2024.

I have the fair price at 4x for what should be the No. 3 wide receiver role at home against the Bengals. Lane looked great in his return to the lineup last week, playing 87% of the snaps in 3-WR sets and seeing five targets. The Rashod Bateman injury shouldn't impact his role, as it was Devontez Walker who picked up those snaps in heavier sets. This offense could use a spark after an ugly loss, and Lane was a preseason standout who already has three red-zone targets on just eight total targets. This TD play looks even better if Lamar Jackson can return.

In a matchup where the smallest margins could ultimately decide the outcome, finding even the slightest edge is crucial. And when it comes to the Cleveland Browns and Tennessee Titans, that edge lies on the defensive side of the ball. Cleveland's defense has quietly been a bright spot this season, ranking 13th in defensive EPA per play, while Tennessee sits a lowly 23rd. The Browns simply have the stronger unit, surrendering just 20 points per game while boasting the NFL's fifth-best red-zone defense; opponents are converting only 43% of their red-zone trips into touchdowns. I'm all over the Browns here - Cam Ward and his struggling offense are going to have a difficult time moving the ball between the 20s and ultimately finding the end zone.

The leading projections forecast Deshaun Watson to throw 31.5 passes this week, on balance: the 4th-fewest among all QBs.. Opposing QBs teams have been afraid to pass too much against the Tennessee Titans, totaling the 7th-fewest attempts in the league (a lowly 32.3 per game) this year.. Jalen Coker's TD price moved too much, but with Darren Waller's snap share dropping and Tommy Tremble picking up the slack, there could be a new TE1 emerging in a Carolina offense that ranks second in the NFL in PROE. Tremble played 70% of the snaps last week in a game that could look very similar to Week 7. He finished with two TDs and ranked third on the team in targets and receptions, with four of each. He also saw two red-zone targets, and the Panthers have four TE red-zone TDs this season — the same number as their rushing TDs. Bryce Young has dropped back to pass on 58% of Carolina's red-zone plays, adding to Tremble's scoring upside.

The Buccaneers’ luck could change this Sunday, starting with Baker Mayfield making progress in his return from a thumb injury. He was back on the practice field ahead of Sunday’s road clash with the Carolina Panthers. Another less-Swedish proverb is “defense travels”. That’s a good thing for Tampa, considering its stop unit has quietly crept up the defensive metrics and sits Top 10 in sexy stats like EPA allowed, opponent success rate and Defensive DVOA. The Panthers’ three wins have come against teams either starting a backup QB (Atlanta) or fielding a dreadful defense (Detroit) - or both (Philadelphia). This is a massive matchup for Todd Bowles and the half-point hook on the field goal seems too much for a divisional rivalry.

Robinson is a workhorse for Atlanta and could see an even bigger snap share with fellow RB Brian Robinson Jr. dealing with a hamstring injury. I'm going back to an old favorite in Week 7, backing Isaiah Likely to score at a fair price of 3x. There's some uncertainty with the move to J.J. McCarthy, who targeted Likely on three of his 17 passes in Week 6, but the New York TE is the second-most targeted player at his position and was 100 points shorter last week. The Texans' defense is more legit than the Saints', but Week 7 is indoors, and Houston has allowed 90 points at home in three games. The Texans are also returning from London with four defensive starters questionable to begin the practice week. Likely has five TDs on the year and leads all New York pass-catchers in red-zone targets.

The Texans defense ranks 10th in success rate allowed. The Giants rank a respectable 20th in defensive success rate, despite facing Dak Prescott, Matthew Stafford, and Jayden Daniels already this season.

New York's secondary unit should be healthier in Week 7 than it has been in recent weeks, too. If the Giants are able to get cornerback Colton Hood or safety Tyler Nubin back this weekend, it would go a long way to keeping this game relatively low-scoring.

JK Dobbins has had 20 opportunities and a TD in back-to-back games, and with Tyler Badie injured, that workload looks very sustainable in Week 7 vs. the Cardinals, who allow the third-most rushing yards to RBs and rank in the bottom third in TDs allowed to the position. I have his TD price at 53%, with RJ Harvey not posing a massive TD threat and serving more as the passing-down back. Jaylen Waddle picked up a chest injury last week, and the Broncos might have to lean on their RB stable a little more this week, especially as 4.5-point road favorites.

At a -4.5-point disadvantage, the Cardinals are underdogs in this week's game, indicating more of a focus on passing than their typical game plan.. Based on their underlying propensities and matchup dynamics, our trusted projections expect the Arizona Cardinals to pass on 63.2% of their plays: the 3rd-greatest frequency among all teams this week.. Based on the game dynamics and the underlying approaches of each team, this game is projected by the model to have 130.4 total plays called: the 5th-most out of all the games this week.. The 2nd-most plays in football have been run by the Arizona Cardinals this year (a whopping 63.5 per game on average).. The loss of Davante Adams should open up more snaps for Colby Parkinson, but more importantly, it creates a red-zone void that the TE can fill. I have Parkinson at a fair price of 4.5x, 50 points shorter than his mid-week price. He played 53% of the snaps last week but saw more targets (6) than Tyler Higbee, who played 78% of the snaps. Parkinson also had three red-zone targets, turning one into a score. This is a 53.5-point indoor total, and Matthew Golden is 2.63x as a potential No. 1 passing option who should have a fair price closer to 2.4x. Golden had 13 targets and 204 air yards last week and could have scored multiple TDs in what ended up being a one-TD effort. Outside of a Week 1 win over the Broncos, the Chiefs have bullied stop units currently sitting 21st or worse in Defensive DVOA. Seattle sits No. 2 in that popular advanced metric and their four-man front is the reason why I’m taking the home team to win outright. That four-man rush is generating the second highest pressure rate despite Mike Macdonald blitzing on less than 24% of opponent dropbacks. Any time we’ve seen Patrick Mahomes struggle it has been versus opponents who can conjure that level of heat with just a four-man attack. I like Seattle ML below -150.

The last time we saw Patrick Mahomes' TD price, he was 4.75x to score last week, but he's opened at 7x following the win over the Chargers. This is the longest price we've seen on him since Week 1, when he cashed at 7.25x. I think his fair price should be in the 5.5x to 6x range in this matchup. Kenneth Walker is going to eat against his former team, but that could lead to some over-pursuing against the run and open up opportunities for Mahomes to bootleg the other way. He currently ranks 10th in the NFL in scrambles despite playing one fewer game than most of the players ahead of him. This also isn't the Colts, Dolphins, or Chargers, all of whom the Chiefs have taken care of lately. This should be a more competitive game, which could increase Kansas City's pass rate, as they currently rank 27th in DB%.

Philly checks in 1-5 ATS, and now the team has major injury concerns on both sides of the ball – and at every level. While there’s no sugarcoating the struggles of the Dallas defense, the offense can score on a Philadelphia stop unit allowing the seventh-highest EPA per play and generating pressure at the sixth-lowest rate. With the Eagles ranking 26th in offensive DVOA and dipping to just 14.5 points per game across their four consecutive losses, even the Cowboys can make enough stops to pull away and cover the number.

The Philadelphia Eagles may throw the ball less in this week's game (and call more carries) since they be forced to start backup QB Tanner McKee.. A passing game script is indicated by the Eagles being a -4.5-point underdog in this game.. With a 64.3% rate of throwing the ball (adjusted for context) this year, the 8th-most pass-heavy offense in the NFL has been the Eagles.. The model projects this game to see the 2nd-highest number of plays run among all games this week at 134.9 plays, based on the traits of each team and game dynamics.. Opposing teams have completed passes at the 3rd-highest clip in football vs. the Dallas Cowboys defense this year (73.7% Adjusted Completion%).

For every matchup in an NFL season, our NFL computer produces selections for a variety of different betting angles. Our computer picks are based on a proprietary algorithm that values each team in the current week to produce moneyline, spread, and point total selections.

The table above, below the game picks, tracks our NFL computer's results over the last 100 games, outlining the record and profit for selections, based on $100 unit size. We track the profit based on both opening and closing lines for every matchup.

How to Use NFL Computer Picks

The easiest way to utilize our computer picks is to simply follow our selections for every matchup, what you'd call ailing the computer." But there are other ways to utilize our NFL computer picks, as well.

You can use our NFL computer as a jumping-off point to do more research into specific lines, cross-referencing with expert picks, which can be found above the selections for some matchups, recent NFL betting trends, and more.

As well, you can gauge the confidence of the matchup. The larger the projected score, the more confident the computer is in a specific pick.

Or, if you want to implement a system, betting only on underdogs, for example, you can look for matchups in which our computer likes the underdog to inform which picks you're going to hone in on for a given week.

We have these computer picks for every sport you're looking to wager on, as well:

Moneyline

NFL moneyline picks are the simplest way to get in on the NFL action. All you have to do is simply bet on which team you think will win the game.

For moneyline picks, the favorite is represented with a minus sign (-) in front of the odds, while the underdog has a plus (+). However, you don't get the same profit for picking an underdog compared to a favorite. If the favored team is -120, a $100 bet on them would pay out $80 in profit and $180 total, if they win the game. The underdog winning at +150 would pay out a $150 profit, $250 total.

We have a complete breakdown of how to read NFL moneyline odds for these NFL computer picks.

Spread

While moneyline picks are the simplest, picking NFL games against the spread is probably the most common wager for regular NFL bettors.

To bet an NFL spread, you wager on whether a team will win by a certain number of points or more or if they'll lose by fewer points than the spread. For example, if the spread is -6.5 for the New England Patriots, you would win the bet if they win the game by 7 points or more. Or if a team is +6.5, you're betting on if they'll win outright or lose by fewer than 6.5 points.

There is a correlation between moneyline odds and the spread, as books set these lines based on the same information.

You can read more about NFL spreads here.

Totals (Over/Under)

If you aren’t entirely sold on which NFL team will win or cover in an NFL game, you can still use our NFL computer picks to bet on the point total.

As opposed to taking a side, in total or Over/Under betting, you wager on whether both NFL teams will combine for a final score of more than (Over) or less than (Under) the total number of points set by oddsmakers.

The computer picks, and your handicapping of totals is more about how you think both teams will score points, not which team has the edge to win.
