Poland’s defensive strength at home meets an Albania attack that struggled throughout qualifying, setting up a low-scoring clash where chances should be limited for the visitors.

Poland welcomes Albania to Warsaw on Thursday, in a matchup that looks far more likely to be decided by defensive structure than attacking quality.

Both teams relied on organization to get here, but Poland’s home form stands out, and it creates a clear path for my Poland vs. Albania predictions and free betting picks for March 26.

Poland vs Albania picks and predictions

My Poland vs Albania best bet: Albania team total Under 0.5 (-108 at Sports Interaction)

Both teams relied on strong defenses to finish second in their qualifying groups, with Poland conceding just seven goals in eight games in Group G. At home, they looked particularly strong, conceding just twice in four home games.

The Poles averaged just 9.3 shots allowed per game, with that number dropping to 7.5 at home, as they kept games tight and controlled.

Worryingly for Albania, they scored just seven times in eight qualifiers in Group K, with four of those goals coming in two games against an Andorra team that finished rock bottom in the group.

Poland to win

Jakub Moder 2+ shots

Mario Mitaj to be booked

Poland were excellent in qualifying, dropping points in three games, of which two came against group winners, the Netherlands. At home, Poland won three of four at home, scoring seven goals and allowing just two.

Feyenoord’s Jakub Moder plays an important role in the Polish midfield and surprisingly led Poland in average shots per game during qualifying, with his 3.0 being higher than even the great Robert Lewandowski’s 2.9.

Albania left-back Mario Mitaj only had one booking in five qualifiers, but he’s racked up six cards in 15 games in the Saudi Pro League and faces a difficult task, given he’s likely up against FC Koln’s Jakub Kaminski.
