Kings vs Jets Prediction, Picks & Same-Game Parlay for Tonight’s NHL Game

Times haven’t been easy for the Jets, but Cole Perfetti could provide a spark as they try to snap an 11-game losing streak against the Kings.

The season has gone off the rails for the reigning Presidents’ Trophy winners, with the Winnipeg Jets losing 11 straight and dropping to the NHL basement.

A home date with the Los Angeles Kings is on deck Friday and Kings vs. Jets predictions are calling for Winnipeg wingers Cole Perfetti and Kyle Connor to play a starring role in ending the skid tonight.

Let's get into my NHL picks for this matchup on January 9.

Kings vs Jets prediction

Kings vs Jets best bet: Cole Perfetti Over 1.5 shots on goal (+100)

Winnipeg Jets winger Cole Perfetti has recorded two or more shots in nine of his past 14 games for 25 total on 51 attempts. He’s cemented in a top-six role and receives power-play looks.

Perfetti has also done a solid job tilting the ice in his favor at five-on-five with a 55.6 Corsi For percentage and 52.9% shot share, so even with the Los Angeles Kings hitting the Canada Life Centre as one of the best shot-suppressing teams in the NHL, I’m expecting the 24-year-old winger to record two or more tonight.

Finally, with the Jets blowing another two-goal lead and being held to just 16 shots Thursday against the Edmonton Oilers, I’m anticipating the entire Winnipeg lineup amping up the shot volume in an effort to end their 11-game losing streak.

Kings vs Jets same-game parlay

Winnipeg might be catching Los Angeles in a look-ahead spot with the Kings facing the Oilers in the second leg of a back-to-back road set Saturday.

Additionally, even with the Jets reeling along an 11-game losing skid, they’re still above the breakeven mark in CF% while allowing the fifth-fewest expected goals per 60 minutes at 5-on-5.

It’s bad, but it’s not 11 consecutive losses bad in the ‘Peg.

Jets winger Kyle Connor has picked up three or more shots in seven of his past 10 games for 37 total on 62 attempts, and he paces the club in both for the campaign while ranking in the 98th percentile of NHL forwards in shots on goal.
