My Canadiens analysis

The Montreal Canadiens have been one of the worst teams in the league so far, sitting at the bottom of the Atlantic Division. However, Nick Suzuki is a consistent contributor for Montreal and leads the squad with 19 points.

He’s scored seven goals and supplied 12 assists in 20 appearances. While the 25-year-old has just two points in his last five games, there’s reason to believe Suzuki will produce tonight. When the Habs last played the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier this month, he scored one of their five goals in a big win.

Also, last season, Suzuki had a goal and three assists in three outings against Columbus. As for his career versus the Blue Jackets, Suzuki has tallied 16 points in 13 games. This is clearly a team which the veteran plays well against.

Plus, Suzuki just failed to record a point in back-to-back games for only the second time this season. He is arguably the Canadiens’ best player. He will get in on the action and play a part in Montreal potentially winning one at Nationwide Arena.

Canadiens vs Blue Jackets same-game parlay (SGP)

Nick Suzuki Over 0.5 points

Canadiens moneyline

Cole Caufield Over 0.5 points

The Habs have completely dominated the Blue Jackets over the last two years. They’ve won six straight against Columbus dating back to November of 2022.

Yes, the Canadiens may not be the best team in the NHL, but Columbus isn’t much better. Montreal has confidence against the Blue Jackets and the recent successes suggest they will grab a victory tonight.

Right behind Suzuki in points is Cole Caufield with 16. He leads the Habs with 12 goals while also tallying four assists. Caufield has four points in the last four games and had two assists on November 16 in the lopsided win over Columbus.

The youngster also collected five points (two goals, three assists) in three games against the Blue Jackets in 2023-24. Don’t be surprised if Caufield contributes once again.
