The Bears enter as 4.5-point home favorites, and our Vikings vs. Bears picks target Caleb Williams and Colston Loveland in Sunday’s matchup at Soldier Field.

Caleb Williams and the Bears turned Week 1 into a track meet, and oddsmakers are asking Minnesota to slow them down as a 4.5-point underdog Sunday at Soldier Field.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET, and our Vikings vs. Bears prediction leans into Chicago’s offensive upside while also digging into touchdown and player-prop angles.

 TOP PICK
Vikings vs Bears prediction: Bears -4.5

As long as this stays below -7, I have to take the Chicago Bears because I'm the biggest QB Caleb Williams shareholder in sports media.

One of my first articles for my previous employer was giving Williams out to win the 2022 Heisman Trophy, which he did. I went on football betting livestreams and said Caleb would be the first quarterback drafted when he came out, and he was.

Unfortunately, my dumba** picked against Williams and the Bears last week when they beat the brakes off the Carolina Panthers, 59-37. Well, I'm not doing that again for the foreseeable future.

Caleb and Chicago head coach Ben Johnson could be the best quarterback-coach combo in the NFL. Johnson's scheme has brought the best out of Williams, who can turn a negative play into an explosive one when things break down.

Covers COVERS INTEL: Bears QB Caleb Williams is the second favorite to win NFL MVP at Kalshi (12%) after tearing apart the Panthers in Week 1.

Vikings vs Bears combo

I’m building this combo around Chicago and Caleb controlling the game. He and Ben Johnson can attack Minnesota’s vulnerable coverage through the middle, and ideally Loveland will capitalize with a touchdown catch.

If the Bears play from ahead, that should also help Vikings RB Aaron Jones Sr.’s receiving prop. With Vikings first-string RB Jordan Mason on IR, Jones should handle more passing-down work with Minnesota chasing points.

  • Bears moneyline
  • Colston Loveland anytime touchdown
  • Aaron Jones Over 14.5 receiving yards

Vikings vs Bears touchdown scorer: Colston Loveland

Even though Colston Loveland is Chicago's best pass-catcher, he didn't have a single catch last week. I'm expecting Williams to get his tight end more involved Sunday because the spine of Minnesota's defense is weak in coverage.

Per Pro Football Focus (PFF), Vikings LB Eric Wilson had the worst pass-coverage grade in Week 1 among 66 qualified linebackers. Minnesota safety Josh Metellus had the third-worst pass-coverage grade last week among 80 safeties.

Also, Loveland was the Bears' first selection with the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. In other words, they plan on using him. Loveland caught a team-high six touchdown passes last season and was PFF's third-highest-graded tight end.
