Rams vs Panthers best bets

Rams Rams -10.5

-110 at FanDuel

There’s a mismatch on both sides of the ball in this Wild Card bout, and the Carolina Panthers aren’t going to keep pace with — or cover the spread — against the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday.

Carolina finished 25th in DVOA with a minus-69 point differential, and Los Angeles ranked second with a plus-172 mark, after all.

I also value the postseason experience of Rams MVP candidate Matthew Stafford, while Panthers QB Bryce Young is making his first playoff start against the fourth-ranked defense in DVOA and finished 20 spots below Stafford in EPA+CPOE composite during the regular season.

Under 46.5

-110 at FanDuel

The weather forecast looks messy, so I’m expecting the Rams to lean on the running game against the Panthers, who rank 24th in run defense DVOA while allowing the sixth-highest EPA per rush, helping keep this total Under the number.

Los Angeles also generated pressure at the seventh-highest clip during the regular season despite blitzing at the second-lowest rate, so look for the Rams to make life uncomfortable for Young with the Panthers ranking 30th in pass block win rate.

Rams Kyren Williams Over 64.5 rushing yards

-114 at FanDuel

Kyren Williams is the more well-rounded player and has gotten the bulk of the work over Blake Corum in big games. The veteran running back has rushed for 70+ yards in five of his last six contests.

That includes the previous clash against Carolina when he rumbled for 72 yards. The Panthers are 26th in the league in defensive rush EPA over their last 10 games while surrendering 144.8 rushing yards per game over that span.

Panthers Tetairoa McMillan anytime TD

+180 at FanDuel

Tetairoa McMillan has been nothing short of outstanding in his rookie year. The former Arizona Wildcat has caught 70 passes for 1,014 yards while collecting seven touchdowns. That leads the playoff-bound Panthers.

The wideout has also gone two games without stepping into the end zone. However, just like Adams did in the last matchup between these teams, McMillan had a TD against the Rams in November. Also, four of his seven touchdowns have come at Bank of America Stadium.
