The Philadelphia Eagles will look to bounce back from their first loss of the season as they visit Jaxson Dart and the New York Giants on Thursday Night Football.

Both quarterbacks have leaned on their tight ends lately, and I’m seeing a lot of value in both Dallas Goedert and Theo Johnson in my Eagles vs. Giants anytime touchdown picks for Thursday, October 9.

Eagles anytime touchdown pick

Dallas Goedert (+250 at bet365)

Dallas Goedert has always been a reliable target in the Philadelphia Eagles' offense, but he’s never been used quite so heavily as he is now.

The 30-year-old tight end is on pace to set career highs in receptions, targets, and most importantly for us, touchdowns — having scored four times already this season.

Much has been made of AJ Brown’s displeasure at his lack of targets, but the change hasn’t been specifically about him. Instead, we’ve seen Jalen Hurts rely more overall on his secondary options in the passing game.

Goedert and Saquon Barkley have been picking up a lot of the slack, with other options like Grant Calcaterra also getting more looks in the early going.

Calcaterra has been out of practice this week and could easily miss Thursday’s game. That will only increase Goedert’s role in the offense, which has been substantial so far — particularly in the red zone.

Goedert has now scored in each of his last three games and will be the go-to option in the short passing game again this week against the Giants. At +250, there’s far too much value here to pass up.

Theo Johnson (+325 at bet365)

While Goedert offers sneaky value for bettors, Theo Johnson has been a virtual unknown in prop bet circles outside of the last two weeks.

In his rookie campaign, Johnson scored just once in 12 games, and he had just six total receptions on 10 targets over the first three weeks of the 2025 season.

However, the emergence of Jaxson Dart has suddenly made Johnson a key part of the New York Giants' offense. In his first two career starts, Dart has a total of three touchdown passes. All three have gone to the tight end out of Penn State.

Maybe that shouldn’t be a surprise for a rookie quarterback. The Giants will want to play things relatively safe in the passing game for now, and Dart has done exactly that, completing a solid 65% of his passes but averaging just 5.2 yards per attempt.

A reliable TE is just what Dart needs, and he’s hit him nine times for 50 yards and three scores in just two games.

His betting strategy focuses more on finding line value based on deviations from the market rather than traditional handicapping, primarily shopping between DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics in his home state of Connecticut, though he’s not afraid to do deep game analysis to find profitable bets at any book.

Outside of gambling, Ed is an avid curler who competes in mixed doubles on the World Curling Tour and runs a popular curling YouTube channel, Chess on Ice. That experience has come in handy during the Olympics, when he has proven to be a successful curling bettor as well.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
