College Football Player Props: Week 4

Week 4 of the college football season has arrived, and our college football picks are taking a look at five player props for Saturday, Sept. 26.

Let’s take a closer look at receiving props for Tre Richardson and Caleb Odom, rushing props for Bo Jackson and Mark Fletcher Jr., and a touchdown prop for CJ Carr.

Prop pick #1: Tre Richardson Over 61.5 Receiving Yards

ProphetX probability: 51%

Jeff Brohm’s WR1 typically puts forth a productive statistical season. From Jamari Thrash, Ja’Corey Brooks, and Chris Bell at Louisville to Charlie Jones, David Bell, and Rondale Moore at Purdue, his WR1 has topped 800 receiving yards in seven consecutive seasons and has topped 1,000 yards in five of those.

Tre Richardson transfers in from Vanderbilt, where he posted 806 yards in a system not known for being friendly to wideouts. Thus far, he’s paced the Cardinals in targets (19) and yards (243), so he’s the best bet for the coveted WR1 spot.

He’s one of the fastest players in the sport — a sub-4.30 40-time is in play at the combine — and pairs that explosiveness with the volume assured in this system. He’s managed 3.74 yards per route run despite battling through an injury suffered in the opener, and his best days are only ahead.

Wake Forest has struggled defensively, allowing 235 passing yards per game. The Demon Deacons rank 111th in EPA per pass and 130th in passing explosiveness allowed, which is a major red flag against a burner like Richardson.

Prop pick #2: Bo Jackson Over 79.5 Rushing Yards

Illinois’ rush defense was a concern heading into the season after the Illini lost nearly all their production from the front seven. Through three games, those fears have been far from assuaged as they rank 96th in EPA per rush defended and 129th in PFF’s tackling grade.

Enter Bo Jackson. The sophomore has impressive underlying metrics (4.62 yards after contact per attempt, 15 missed tackles forced) but has yet to accumulate large counting stats as he hasn’t been needed in two blowouts of MAC schools.

In Ohio State’s lone competitive game, Jackson handled 23 touches against Texas. That’s a great sign that he’ll be featured in Big Ten games, starting with a great matchup against a beatable Illinois defense that should get gashed on Saturday.

Prop pick #3: CJ Carr Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns

CJ Carr should have a productive day at the office in Week 4 against a miserable Purdue defense ranked 134th in EPA per play.

Marcus Freeman chose “Leave No Doubt” as Notre Dame’s 2026 motto after last year’s playoff snub. That means the Irish won’t be shy about creating margin and piling up points against down opponents — of which Purdue represents a near-perfect example.

The simple reality of the College Football Playoff era is that style points matter. CJ Carr is a likely top-10 NFL Draft pick when this season ends, and he has more than enough talent to pile up touchdowns as the Irish seek to right last season’s wrongs.

Notre Dame has scored 56 and 66 points in its last two matchups with Purdue. Expect Carr to have a large say in how many points the Irish pile up this time around.

Prop pick #4: Mark Fletcher Jr. Under 74.5 Rushing Yards

ProphetX probability: 51%

Mark Fletcher Jr. left Week 3 early with an upper body injury, and he’s questionable to suit up against Central Michigan. If he plays, he’ll likely be at less than 100%, and there’s no reason to force-feed the big fella touches as a 41-point favorite against a Chippewas team without the offensive ability to make things interesting.

The Chips will slow the tempo. They rank 118th in snaps per minute (29.9), which will limit Miami’s possessions, and Fletcher likely rotates with a deep stable of backs whenever the Hurricanes do have the ball.

The mega-talented Jordan Lyle — the RB1 heading into last year, before injury — is expected back in Week 4 after being disciplined for an off-field incident in the offseason. Gerard Pringle Jr. and Javian Mallory are capable ball carriers as well, and the Hurricanes should spread the wealth among these four with Fletcher on the mend.

Prop pick #5: Caleb Odom Over 41.5 Receiving Yards

ProphetX probability: 55%

Stop me if you heard this before, but Mississippi quarterback Trinidad Chambliss is, uh, pretty good at football. With a total of 59 in his Week 4 shootout against Florida, someone has to be on the receiving end of his pinpoint passes.

Enter Caleb Odom. The tight end has played in two games this season, going for 66 yards and a score against Louisville and contributing 88 yards against LSU.

The former top-100 recruit has always had the talent, and now he’s putting it together in a lucrative system that plays at a high tempo — and it sure doesn’t hurt to have arguably the sport’s best signal caller throwing you the ball.

Odom’s 2.70 yards per route run is highly encouraging as he fills a much-needed role for a Rebels squad that lost much of its receiving production from a year ago. He should continue eating up targets and gaining chunk yardage in Week 4 and beyond, so this number is too low.
