Texas A&M will host Kentucky in College Station in Week 3 today, with the Aggies looking to stay undefeated after two blowout wins.
However, the final scores may be making these two teams look further apart than they actually are.
The Aggies enter as a 17.5-point favorite with the total set at 50.5, and my Kentucky vs. Texas A&M prediction looks toward the underdog to keep this one more competitive than the market expects.
Read on for my college football picks for Saturday, Sept. 19, with kickoff set for 3:30 p.m. ET at Kyle Field (ESPN).
TOP PICK
Who will win Kentucky vs Texas A&M: Kentucky +17.5
Kentucky lost 45-17 in Week 2, but the final score was not indicative of the competitiveness of the game.
Kentucky led 17-13 at the half, but fumbled twice and had a turnover on downs following a questionable decision to go for it from its own 32-yard line late in the third quarter. Alabama responded with a two-play touchdown drive to put the game out of reach heading into the fourth quarter.
In their season opener, Kentucky dominated Youngstown State, jumping out to a 28-0 lead in the first half. Public perception of the Wildcats is low after an ugly final score in Week 2, but this team is better than the market gives them credit for ahead of kickoff against Texas A&M.
Texas A&M is also worse than the market realizes. The Aggies ostensibly defeated Arizona State in commanding fashion by 28 points in Week 2 but were outgained 369-255 on the day. The score was 24-20 heading into the fourth quarter before Arizona State turned the ball over on its final four drives of the game.
Kentucky should be able to compete at a high level against Texas A&M this weekend.
Playable to 56%.

Kentucky vs Texas A&M Over/Under pick: Under 50.5
The strength of this Texas A&M team is its defense. In the season opener, the Aggies held Missouri State to only 67 yards of total offense and 4 first downs on 11 drives. In Week 2, they forced a pair of fumbles and had 4 total takeaways against Arizona State. It's the offense that is a point of vulnerability for Texas A&M after losing some of its top talent to the NFL Draft this past summer.
Kentucky has an inexperienced starting quarterback, which limits its offensive ceiling against better defenses. Facing Alabama, Kenny Minchey was only 3-for-9 for 31 passing yards when under pressure. Kentucky's ability to stay competitive this Saturday hinges on finding room to run on the ground, which reduces the likelihood of quick scores on successful drives and keeps the clock moving even when offensive plays aren't successful.
Playable to 56%.
Kentucky vs Texas A&M prop: Texas A&M Under 34.5 points
Texas A&M lost wide receiver K.C. Concepcion and tight end Nate Boerkircher to the NFL Draft this past summer. The Aggies also lost four starters from last year's offensive line during the offseason, leaving an offense with very few established returning starters. The lack of continuity showed against Arizona State when they managed only 14 first downs and 255 yards of total offense.
Kentucky has a strong offensive line and a capable running back room, which should allow the Wildcats to chew clock and limit offensive possessions for their opponents in 2026. If not for an unlikely barrage of second-half turnovers last week, they would have easily held Alabama under this number. Texas A&M isn't as good as Alabama offensively.
Playable to 60%.
Kentucky vs Texas A&M combo
Kentucky's only path to being competitive against Texas A&M is to grind the game to a halt and control the time of possession. The underdog covering the spread in a low-scoring game script is a correlated outcome worth considering.
