Damian Lillard has cooled off in April, but the Blazers are finally at full strength, and get to face a Nets squad tonight that will be very far from it.

NBA Sharp Money and Line Movement Report

By Patrick Everson

This line jumped the fence at PointsBet USA, where shorthanded Brooklyn (see below) opened a slim 1-point favorite overnight before the number moved to Portland -1 this morning. By lunch hour, the Trail Blazers were out to -2.5, where the line remains at 5:15 p.m. ET, though the Nets are taking 57 percent of bets/52 percent of money. The total moved from 240.5 to 241.5, with 52 percent of bets on the Over and 51 percent of cash on the Under.

Against the spread (ATS) pick

The Nets have a merry-go-round in their rotation as of late, as the team just can’t seem to get all of its guys healthy at the same time. Kevin Durant was able to play for Brooklyn on Thursday, and he arguably played his best game of the year. Durant had 42 points and 10 assists in that one, but he won’t be out there for the Nets tonight. Head coach Steve Nash said that he doesn’t expect the superstar to play on back-to-back days, but he will deploy Kyrie Irving in the lineup. That will give Brooklyn some much-needed firepower against Portland, but it’s hard to imagine it being enough.

The Trail Blazers are essentially at full strength at this point in the season, and they have now won and covered in each of their last two games. Portland should now start to find some consistency, and it’s hard to imagine this team losing to a shorthanded Brooklyn group here. While Irving is an exceptional offensive talent, the Blazers have Damian Lillard to counter his production on that end of the floor. Portland also has CJ McCollum pack even more of a punch, and Jusuf Nurkic should have his way on the inside.

One player that could be an X-factor for Brooklyn down the stretch is Blake Griffin. However, Robert Covington will likely spend a lot of time defending him, and Covington can be a pest on the defensive end.

PREDICTION: Blazers +1.0 (-110)

Over/Under pick

The Over has hit in three of Portland’s last four games, and it’s hard to envision this game not turning into something of a track meet. The Nets have improved defensively over the course of this season, but these teams are both in the Top 16 in the NBA in pace over the last 10 games.

Portland has actually been playing at the 10th-fastest pace over the last five, and it’s no coincidence with Lillard back in the lineup. The Blazers backcourt should be able to do its thing in this one, and Irving is going to try to answer. Expect a lot of points here.

PREDICTION: Over 240.5 (-110)

Player prop pick

Lillard is averaging 28.2 points per game for the Blazers this season, but he hasn’t scored over 28 points in a game since April 2. It’s only a matter of time before that changes, as Lillard is one of the most potent scorers in the entire league. Against a Nets team that gets a lot of attention, you should count on Lillard coming out and playing his best. He’s going to want to put on a show against Irving and he’s due for a big performance.

PREDICTION: Damian Lillard Over 26.5 Points (-116)
