The surging Detroit Pistons are 4.5-point road favorites tonight as they visit the Charlotte Hornets at the Spectrum Center, with tip-off scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.
Detroit is rolling, and my Pistons vs. Hornets prediction expects them to comfortably beat an inconsistent Charlotte team.

Pistons vs Hornets prediction: Pistons -4.5

The Detroit Pistons have looked dominant so far this season, going 5-1 both straight up and against the spread. All five victories have come by at least eight points, and their elite defense now faces a Charlotte Hornets team ranked 30th in points per game (98.3) and offensive rating.
Charlotte has lost three straight, averaging just 90.7 ppg during that span. It's also 27th in turnovers committed, and the Pistons can punish those mistakes. Detroit forced 25 giveaways when these clubs met last week.
The Pistons already beat Charlotte by eight points on Oct. 28, and while this rematch is on the road, I expect the visitors to cover a 4.5-point spread once again tonight.
COVERS INTEL: Charlotte is taking 50.7% of its shots from beyond the arc, the second-highest rate in the NBA, but ranks 28th in 3-point percentage (29.6%). That's a concerning combination against Detroit, which has limited opponents to just 32.5% from downtown.
Pistons vs Hornets combo
Despite a low 210.5 total, I'm liking the Under tonight. Detroit has cashed the Under in four straight, limiting three of its last four opponents to fewer than 100 points. Neither team plays at a particularly fast pace, and Charlotte has also hit the Under in two of its last three games.
I'll round out my combo with Cade Cunningham. The guard has cashed the Over in dimes in four of his six appearances this season, and the Hornets have struggled to limit playmakers, allowing 7.9 assists per night to opposing point guards.

Pistons vs Hornets player props
Pistons player prop: Duncan Robinson Over 2.5 threes
Play up to 65%.
Duncan Robinson has shot the rock well, draining 41.5% of his 3-pointers. The veteran is averaging 3.7 makes on 8.8 attempts per contest. You can now see why the price isn't great here, but there's tons of evidence to back this prop.
Robinson has cleared this line in four of his six outings so far, and he drained three against the Hornets last week. Charlotte is also allowing opponents to shoot 37.1% from long range, and has allowed 3.3 makes from beyond the arc to opposing shooting guards.
With Detroit also ranking fifth in assist percentage, its elite ball movement should get Robinson plenty of clean looks tonight.
Hornets player prop: Brandon Miller Over 24.5 points
Play up to 48%.
Despite the Hornets' struggles, Brandon Miller has been a clear bright spot. He has a team-best 34.6% usage rate while averaging 24.4 ppg.
The former Alabama standout has cashed his scoring Over in three of his last five, and he also finished with 24 points in his last game against the 76ers.
Miller already cooked the defensively stout Pistons for 31 points last week, and with an average of 23.1 field-goal attempts per night, he has a legitimate chance of going off for 25+ again.
