My Heat vs. Lakers prediction has the well-rested Miami Heat extending their winning streak to three games at the expense of Los Angeles, which nearly blew a massive lead late on Sunday and is taking the hardwood for the third time in four nights.
The Heat are slight 1.5-point road underdogs for a 10 p.m. ET tip-off at Crypto.com Arena.
Let's dive into my analysis and NBA picks for Monday, Nov. 2.
TOP PICK
Heat vs Lakers prediction: Heat moneyline
Playable up to 50%.
The start of the Giannis Antetokounmpo era for the Miami Heat has been rocky, at best, but consecutive wins over the Atlanta Hawks and Indiana Pacers have righted the ship, at least for the time being. Their offense averaged a league-best 129.9 points per 100 possessions across the two victories, with the one-two punch of Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo combining for 53 points.
The Los Angeles Lakers haven't strung together multiple wins in a row since opening the campaign at 3-0. They're turning the rock over an alarmingly high 20.5 times per game over their last four contests, and their net rating of -42.5 in the fourth quarters of those outings is 13.4 points worse than that of any other team.
Miami's bread and butter was supposed to be its defense, but it's clear that's going to continue to be a work in progress. Playing against a weary Los Angeles team that can't hold onto the basketball and is prone to squandering leads late should help build confidence in that department and result in another dub.

Heat vs Lakers combo
Tonight feels like a schedule loss for Los Angeles. Not only is it on a quick turnaround, but five of its next six games will be on the road. Miami is finally feeling itself, having gotten the monkey off its back by securing consecutive victories. The Lakers are no longer getting the Heat at their lowest point, and that should play into the end result here.
These teams have played each other four times since December 2024, and all four meetings have gone Over the total. It doesn't hurt that both sides rank in the top 13 in offense over their last five games, either.
Austin Reaves has averaged 5.4 rebounds and 9.2 assists in his last five meetings with the Heat, with the last four resulting in an Over for this combination prop. He's gone three games in a row without an Over, mind you, but he only had two such stretches all of last season, so it feels like he's due.
Heat vs Lakers combo
- Heat +1.5
- Over 235.5 points
- Austin Reaves Over 9.5 rebounds + assists
Heat vs Lakers player props
Heat player prop: Bam Adebayo Over 18.5 points
Playable up to 60%.
When Miami had a goose egg in the win column through four games, all Adebayo was contributing to the cause was a measly 11.8 points per game on 40% shooting from the field and 16.7% from distance.
It's no coincidence that the Heat have gotten their groove back just as the three-time All-Star has started playing some of his best basketball. Adebayo has averaged 25.5 points over his last two appearances, shooting 63.3% from the field while bringing down nine rebounds per contest.
It's reassuring to see that the 29-year-old big man is still capable of putting up monster numbers, even with the Greek Freak filling up the stat sheet in his own right.
Lakers player prop: Walker Kessler Under 10.5 rebounds
Playable up to 68%.
Walker Kessler's 15-rebound outburst against the Toronto Raptors marked the second game in a row that the 7-foot-2 behemoth grabbed at least 13 boards.
Context matters, though. Kessler had a five-inch height advantage over the starting centers for both Toronto and the Golden State Warriors, who were either third-stringers (Trayce Jackson-Davis) or simply undersized (Gui Santos).
The combination of Antetokounmpo and Adebayo will put up much more of a fight on the glass Monday night, which should help keep Kessler's rebounding numbers down.
