The New Orleans Pelicans will try to start a new winning streak as they visit the Los Angeles Clippers tonight at 9 p.m. ET.
Los Angeles has been among the NBA's worst teams on both sides of the ball, and I'm backing New Orleans to cover in my Pelicans vs. Clippers prediction and free NBA picks for Sunday, Nov. 8.
TOP PICK
Pelicans vs Clippers prediction: Pelicans -1.5
The Los Angeles Clippers (1-7) have been one of the worst teams in the NBA this season and are 1-4 against the spread in their last five games. The Clippers rank 23rd in defensive efficiency (113.0) and have been even worse offensively, ranking 27th in offensive efficiency (104.3).
That doesn't bode well against a New Orleans Pelicans team that recently strung together a four-game winning streak and will hound the Clippers' offense. The Pelicans force 17.4 turnovers per game, while Los Angeles averages a league-high 20.1 giveaways.
Losing that many possessions will prevent the depleted Clippers from staying in this game, even at home. I like the Pelicans to cover at spreads up to -4.5 tonight.

Pelicans vs Clippers combo
The Pelicans are one of the fastest-paced teams in the NBA, leading them to average 120.2 points per game. And while the Clippers have some efficiency issues, they don't grind games to a halt. Los Angeles has gone Over tonight's total in each of its last four games, and I like them to do it again.
With points on the board, I also like Zion Williamson to hit his 20+ point target. Williamson is averaging 20.6 ppg and has scored 20+ in six of his nine games this season.
Pelicans vs Clippers combo
- Pelicans -1.5
- Over 226.5
- Zion Williamson 20+ points
Pelicans vs Clippers player props
Pelicans player prop: Dejounte Murray 30+ points + rebounds + assists
Dejounte Murray's overall numbers (an average of 27.1 PRA) may not look promising, but two factors work in his favor. First, he's only played six games so far, and a poor showing on Friday night dragged his averages down. He's hit 30+ PRA in three of those six games overall.
Second, this game promises to be fast-paced, with the Pelicans taking full advantage of a shaky Clippers defense and getting easy buckets off turnovers. That's enough of a boost for me to back Murray to get 30+ PRA at up to 52%.
Clippers player prop: Rui Hachimura 6+ rebounds
The Clippers don't offer many exciting prop bet targets, but Rui Hachimura is one of the more dependable names on the roster. Hachimura is putting up 6.5 rebounds per game and has gone for 7+ boards in two straight.
The former Gonzaga standout shouldn't have much trouble repeating those numbers against a Pelicans team that isn't great on the glass, ranking 17th in the NBA with a 49.9% rebounding rate. This is a reasonable target for Hachimura, and I'm backing him to get 6+ rebounds at odds up to 50%.
